Friends losing Unique's on death

Quick explanation, I chose to increase my Monolith for +11 Corruption, my friend joined me in the boss fight, he died, I did not die and i finished the boss. He lost all the drops when he respawned. He did help he was there for 3/4 of the fight but was rewarded with nothing but death after putting time into it. So my question is, why are players being punished when the boss was actually killed and someone on the team survived. EVERYONE should be getting loot, not just the one person that survived the fight. This is game breaking for me and should be fixed. I feel like its bug and want to report it. If its not a bug then fix your shit because that is NOT how multiplayer should work and if it stays like this then ill just move on unfortunately.

That’s a absolutely valid request. Normally your friend should get all the drops. Perhaps you could be more specific on what happened exactly.

Like

  • did your friend join mid fight or did you start the bossfight together?
  • Was you friend dead when the boss received the killing blow?
  • Did he not see anything drop when the boss died or wss he not on the battleground when the boss died?
  • Did you port back through the green portal after the fight so your friend couldn’t cime back to redeem the loot?

    –he joined from the beginning just died when the boss was at 25% health left.

  • Was you friend dead when the boss received the killing blow?
    –my friend was not able to respawn during the boss fight even though i died at least 5 times which didnt reset the fight and was able to use green portal to get back into the fight and continue. when the boss died he seen items drop. When he respawned, and came in portal they were gone. We have also noticed this happening when we go in a Town Portal to sell or stash items and come back to through the same portal. Items on the ground was gone and no longer available to pick up.

    –He was still dead because it would not allow him to respawn like it was doing for me. Yes he seen items drop, it finally let him respawn but the items were gone, see the response above for a full breakdown.

Lastly, my last sentence was not a threat but yet a fact. If this is indeed by design then I’m personally wasting my time with this. Deaths will happen but the overlying goal of boss’ dying will also happen, for me to receive loot and others not for the same boss they help to defeat is just wrong. So not a threat, but a promise depending on how many times I personally experience this in the coming weeks.

It doesn’t, it’s just his opinion & a statement that it’s a deal breaker for him. How else could he say that ā€œif it stays like it is he won’t want to play the gameā€ without hurting other people’s feelings?

Exactly, I’m not willing to forfeit my freedom of speech on or off the internet. If my words hurts people’s feelings then they can suck it up. I’m merely trying to figure out if this is working by design or its a bug in an early access game. If its a bug, I’ll accept it until its fixed then enjoy the fix. If its by design then I will no longer waste my time, the devs time, or my friends time when we cannot get loot. Example: you paid for the game for your bro, he comes to join you. You level him up and then he proceeds to not get loot when he was there for fight. That isn’t fair I wouldn’t expect anyone to think it was.

Either way, I came here to the feedback and suggestions forum to express this feedback and suggestion to change it. This one issue alone will run people off the game, I know this because I am one of them. One last thought of mind, you and your friend spend weeks farming echos for lets say a ā€œUnique Swordā€, you kill the boss but your friend dies. You both see a Unique Sword drop on each screen but your friend died and was not able to release/respawn. So after the boss fight your friend is now allowed to respawn, go into the green portal or teleports to you but now that drop is no longer available because its disappeared. Well your friend just lost his time and its wasted for the ā€œchanceā€ that the weapon could had been what they were looking for. He received nothing, nothing rewarded for spending his time trying to enjoy the game with a friend and get some loots.

Why you ask??? because there was no damn loot, that is why lol.

Another question comes to mind as well. When someone is out in a zone, they get a full inventory and use portal to get back to town. They sell or stash the loots, and take portal back to last location, the MAP resets and any loot left on the ground is also now gone. Is this also by design or is it a bug? Both issues I’ve experience with the same friend are almost identical in nature.

The part where your friend was not able to respawn is a bug. Every partymember is able to respawn during a bossfight and can reenter the battleground. If this was not the case, that’s a bug.

Also a known issue is that items from the ground disappear when you leave the map through a portal and come back.

So unfortunately your friend was hit by 2 bugs at the same time. If he would’ve been able to respawn in time and be alive in the instance where the boss loot drops, he would’ve gotten the items.

So to minimize the possibility to miss loot, you should make sure that all your party members are alive and present when the killing blow hit a boss. If somebody died close before the boss’ death. try to delay your damage and wait with killing till your mate is back in the instance with you.

For the bug that someine cannot respawn, I dont know a workaround. When it happens next time, try to leave and jejoin party. The dead guy could also try to relog and rejoin the party quickly, while the rest if the team stopps fighting and runs in circles. Sorry.

Sometime the game fucks something up with the group. If you feel theres something fishy about your group, it’s best when all the party members restart the client and regroup.

True, but (being a pedant) you appear to be mistaking a private internet forum (which adheres to whatever rules the owner wants) with real life (where one’s government sets the rules & gives you certain rights).

This was always communicated (pre-0.9) as a technical limitation that would be overcome with MP. No idea if it will be, but it evidently hasn’t.

I’m not mistaking anything, Government Forum, Private, Public Gaming Forum, doesn’t matter to me. I express myself the same on any of it and if the owners of said forums determines I should be removed or banned then that is on them. I’d accept it and move on, it may or may not persuade my decisions to use those forums, products, and political government entities ever again. In America, they say our vote matters, I assure you that it does not lol.

TLDR: not going to change for anyone, and not mistaken what forum this is on.

It’s perfectly valid for a player who failed the encounter to not receive the rewards for completing the encounter.
