Freeze Rate Multiplier is the % a hold over from old wording

in looking to see if this was mentioned in the fourms i see that freeze chance used to be a thing and was renamed to Freeze Rate Multiplier

i’m trying out a cold based shaman and wanted to see how it works
the in game description says “Cold skill shave a chance to freeze on hit equal to their freeze rate divided by the target’s health”
so my +587% FRM on a mob with for argument sake having 100,000 hp and 587% being 0.587

100000/ 0.587 = 170,357%

Which doesn’t make much sense.
but

100000/ 587 = 170%

seems to be more what you are going for. so Is that % just a hold over from the old system and now FRM is just a number not a %

No, that’s not how it works. Cold skills will all have a base freeze rate (Ice Thorns has a default freeze rate of 18), which is then multiplied by your freeze rate multiplier to get the final freeze rate (18 * (1 + 5.87) = 123.66) which is then used to calculate the chance to freeze per hit (123.66 / 100,000 = 0.12366%).

In addition to your maths being the wrong way round (it’s freeze rate / target hp, not the other way round) & 587% = 5.87, not 0.587.

ooh, ya i see that now, thanks for clearing that up
