Freeze chance questions?

Hey guys I have a question on freeze chances
How does it exactly work ?
And what is the best amounts of what stats to maximize freezing potential specifically on bosses .

I currently have
650% chance to apply frostbite
315 freeze rate per stack of chill
1900 freeze rate multiplier

I freeze mobs always but I still barely freeze bosses .
Whats best out the 3 to stack for better freeze potential? I’m trying find what balance of power / defenses I’m willing to sacrifice/build around.

The game guides has exact formulas for things like freeze and stun.

Getting all the stacks you named is very good, but what also helps is just applyting hits very fast. So scalign attack/cast speed helps as well.

I’m currently playing around with some ideas why my void and necrotic aren’t maxed res but I have alternate gear to max all res but going for more ward retention it was the missing piece to let me hit 10-12k ward
I do 15k frost claw DMG outside combat 21 k during combat
I’ have alternate build where I hit 40k damage during combat but I’m trying to switch to lower dps perma freeze build if I can why I’m asking these questions and if it’s not possible to perma freeze bosses I’m switch back to higher dps .
Cause I’ll just settle for perma freeze mobs and just forget trying perma freeze bosses .
Right now I’m going all in on trying freeze bosses at the cost of DPS .
Lmk if I should abandon that idea
I’m trying to get another oceareon ring
I’d like matching pair good slams with 150+ freeze rate the goal
Have only 1 ATM and failed my slam :frowning: the grind continues.

  1. Volley of Glass is a 100% must. You need +lvl to FC, ideally on a Twisted Heart. Until then, buy a T6 on an exalt.

  2. You need T7 mana cost reduction on a scepter (ideally on Frozen Ire) and Frozen Reign from FC tree. Also, FC mana cost reduction idols. But Volley of Glass is 200% worth it. It multiplies the number of hits you do.

  3. Need that Frostbite Shackles, sorry… FC is one of the most expensive builds…

  4. Massive ward: 7 points in Celestial Doom (RM passive) with Brand the Invaders (Frostwall) or Branding Cold (Flame Rush).

  5. Also, slam that catalyst onto a Vial of Volatile Ice (it’s cheap even at 3LP).

And squeeze out as much freeze multi and freeze multi per chill as you can. However, I wouldn’t get fixated on chain-freezing bosses. Maxing out frostbite stacks is where it’s at, imo.

I’m Cof player
I currently use strand of souls with freeze rate multiplier slammed on jt
I use crest of unity frost bite slammed onto it .
I got to oceareon rings 130 freeze rate the other 170 freeze rate
Snowdrift boots t7 movement speed slammed
Currently need good t7 exalted rings to slam into my new oceareon ring .
Also my armor has t7 freeze rate and t5 frostbite on it
Overall it’s a solid fun build .
I really been trying to find a frost claw exalted relic
Had no luck so far .
I have twisted heart but it doesn’t really work well as a strong exalt item feels better in it’s slot ATM .

It’s a fun build but I’m trying to shift to a spark charge build ATM , reason ? I’m sure this freeze everything build is great in arena but it doesn’t really work to well on bosses least at 400 + corruption I still tend to die .

Also when I go for higher damage but sacrifice my freeze rate it does better then losing over half my dps to barely freeze bosses more .

My advice, quit CoF asap. If not, farm scepters for T7 spell cost redux and relics for FC levels. Volley of Glass is a must for DoTs. Besides, you need more cast speed, intelligence and frostbite duration.

They basically don’t exist, T7 goes for 300-500M gold. But T5 on a Heart (or T6 on an exalt) will do, like this https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/A6JLa1XA as this is all you really need from the FC tree. Extra levels go to Artor’s Sceptre for frostbite.

It’s a completely different build. Just about all gear is different. Your Snowdrifts and Crest of Unity are pretty good so I’d stick with that. Just make sure you spec into that Volley of Glass, build hardly functions without it. I just made twisted heart + 4 to frost claw .
I waited till lvl 10 prophecies reward then target farmed relics till I got drop , with t7 frost claw relic it also dropped duplicate then I used two runes creations to get 4 t7 frost claw relic then target farmed twisted heart and got on my 2nd lp 1 heart :heart:
