For any issues or things that aren’t working correctly with the latest forum update, please share them here and we will look into them.
I don’t know if it counts as “the latest forum update”, since it’s been happening a long time since, but if we mute a thread so it doesn’t show up in “Latest” or show any notification, it then completely disappears from the respective category as well. The only way to find that thread again is via forum search.
As EHG_Vandryll pointed out I should drop my feedback regarding the removal of the bug report section in the forums here:
I need to say that I hate this change.
From my previous experience things I reported via the ingame tool never got fixed. Last time I actually reported a bug in the forum Derek only then checked the ingame reports and told me that there have been multiple reports and then it was (partially) fixed the next patch.
So for me it’s kinda clear that things do get overlooked via the ingame tool and especially there is no way for people to call “I have the same issue” anymore as it is now via the forums which might elevate that it’s not an isolated issue.
Also, when people encounter an issue their first instinct is to search online. So they would find others having the same issue and only then realize it might actually be a bug and not a user error… which is an inportant step before people tend to make bug reports
Now this WILL move towards reddit… I guarantee, and I’m not sure if this is actually a benefit for the community as a whole when things get burried inside reddit.
99 little bugs on the wall, why didn’t you fix nearly none of them at all?
Closing those topics after 90 days is still a bad idea.
The death screen still only works, if the language is set to English. But yeah, the bug report is now vanished. ![]()
I keep forgetting theres an in game bug report & have never used it. Does it work for true offline mode? Also as the other poster said peeps run into something they come check forums first. I have on numerous times. I see if there might be me a user error or misunderstanding of how something works. Or u guys already know & its being addressed. Or theres a workaround. If none of these then I post a bug report & pray it get fixed sometime. You guys aint exactly speedy about fixing things. & btw Its a shame ur removing such an important community service. I have feeling theres some peeps who are going to see this as example of distancing between devs & the players.
Can more skill images be added to the avatar selection ?
Glacier especially. Because of reasons.
If not, can someone edit my avatar to be the Glacier skill image, so I can be special ?
I also hate the removal of the bug report section.
Although, I don’t even know if it even worked to begin with. The last bug I reported there was in the first week of this season. Each week, after every update, I’ve updated the post saying to the bug still exists. No feedback. 0. For nearly 2 months. I understand how software development works, and that not everything can be fixed immediately. But it would be nice to at least get some feedback, that someone actually read the report and acknoledge the existance of the problem. This discourages people from further reporting.
The bug section was clearly overlooked, and maybe that’s why it’s gone.
It doesn’t. It tries to send data to the servers, which the offline client doesn’t do. That’s why I suggested having some solution of saving the game data files (which are the most important thing to send) somewhere so we can then report it via another tool.
No, they paid attention to it. They just didn’t reply often.
But bug reporting isn’t gone. It’s just moved to https://support.lastepoch.com.
One issue I’ve noted with the update is the text formatting. Previously you’d hit a newline and it would remain close together, like you’d just wrapped the line around. And then you’d hit new line twice and you’d get a space between the paragraphs.
Currently we now always have the same space between lines.
I just hit a newline and there’s some line height separating them.
Now I just hit 2 new lines but there’s the same space between them.
This makes the text a lot more confusing to read when there are lots of paragraphs and line breaks, since it becomes all jumbled together.
One other thing that is gone and was useful was the preview, not sure why you removed that.
Shame that theres no way for true offline to report bugs in game. Im probably wont even go to another site to report bugs. I would also have liked to know that they have read my bug reports. Maybe even know if others are experiencing the same problem. I remember seeing on other game forums a thread that the devs would post bugs known & if they were being addressed perhaps u could put something like that here.
That’s not really true, at least according to EHG. Here’s the notes from the official discord:
-
The Support section has been removed. For any support-related issues, please reach out to our support team at https://support.lastepoch.com/.
-
Bug reporting has been removed from the forum. To ensure all bug reports are submitted in one place, any bugs should be reported in-game using the built-in bug reporter (F8).
So support is for actual support help (like account problems, etc.), while bug reporting is only via the in-game tool.
Yet another thing that seems to be gone: now we can’t vote on feedback threads? Their vote count is also gone.
I don’t really want to be negative here but it’s looking more like the upgrade was more of a downgrade, where the font changed, the icons changed and then a bunch of stuff was removed.
Don’t worry, the forum change will totes bring players back (to the game & the forum)![]()
I personally didn’t see the need to change anything on the front end, it wasn’t broken so why attempt to fix it? If there were improvements on the back end, sure. The text box is also smaller on the desktop.
The worst part is that the existing bugs are still there, so there wasn’t even that to justify the change.
It’s actually the same size. The reason it feels smaller is because they removed the right part of it where we previously had the preview.
Unless you mean the height of the text box. You can drag it up, but yes, by default it’s now smaller.
For me, fixing the problem of the spoiler would be enough. Before, everything would appear in all caps when I posted, even though it looked fine in the preview. I wonder how it is now?
Test
In my experience, most bugs I’ve reported have been fixed in later patches.
Therefore, I don’t feel like my bug reports are being ignored.![]()
However, for issues like death causes not being displayed in languages other than English, and bugs that are likely to have many reports but aren’t easy to fix, I think some kind of communication is necessary.
I’ve seen development streams and heard that adding elements to the death screen isn’t easy.
But that’s probably not the case for most players.
Discord may now be the main platform for communication, but
personally, I appreciate the official website being functional. I’m not a native English speaker, and for me, Discord isn’t very user-friendly, especially for English channels.
Therefore, I would welcome improvements to the official website. ![]()
It seems the problem hasn’t been fixed. I find it very hard to read when everything is in uppercase, but I wonder if that’s not the case for native speakers?![]()
In the upper left corner of the forums, selecting News → Announcements, which goes to https://forum.lastepoch.com/c/announcements/37, leads to an error page that says “Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private.”
Edit: actually this is a problem across the entire site, not just the forums. Same issue on the https://lastepoch.com/ main page. News → Announcements probably needs to go to https://forum.lastepoch.com/c/news/ instead.
I’m also kinda bummed that the bug report sections were removed. The biggest reason is that often we never get a reply or response from a dev acknowledging the bug report. So as a player its nice to hear from other players who might also be having the same issue, and it gives you relief that isn’t an isolated issue to yourself.
I created a bug report only a few weeks ago, and now I’m thinking, do I need to create a bug report in-game now, because I don’t even know if the one I created in the forums even exists anymore? Now I’m also thinking if people talk about bugs in the forums, are they going to get moderated because a moderator, dev, or community manager will just tell them to create a bug report in-game or on the support site, and then that thread will be locked.
I don’t have a problem creating reports for future bugs in-game or on the support site. I just feel like this change takes the community aspect out of it.
