Forum suggestion about hotkeys

Default windows hotkey ctrl+home should always bring user to the top of page. Try it in post like 500+ messages and you will understand. Thats not working when pages are loaded midway, damned dynamic web. This is annoying to manualy scroll every time to top. There is even no “go top” button! Jesus… First time making forum? This is default behavior for 25+ years already, devs.

Howto reproduce:

  1. Open some middle-big thread with many posts
  2. Click mini-scroll to the middle or end of posts
  3. Try to go back to the top with hotkeys or scroll (yeah even funnier with scroll) :joy:

If you just hit home, it will take you to the first post.

wow, thats so unusual. Okay, I will use it  Thanks, it was such pain to scroll before.

It’s not that unusual. It’s actually standard web practice.
In a document Home will take you to the start of the line. So you have another futher shortcut (ctrl+home) that will take you to the top of the document.

In a webpage, there is no start of the line, so the default is go to the top. The only difference is that some sites also make ctrl+home scroll to the top, but they all scroll with just home all the same.

They use a forum framework/template, the name of that provider slipped me right now, I can’t remember. (It is the same that Blizzard and Grim Dawn use)

You can jump to the top by clicking the Thread Name at the Top:
