Hey guys, a quick question about the nemesis system…
If I put a unique item in a forgotten egg and empower the nemesis, is there a chance for it to spit back out the same unique, but with more LP (Legendary Potential)? Or, will it always just assign 1 or 2 new affixes to it?
Long story short, I’m trying to find the best way to get LP added to a unique and wondering if this is what I should be grinding vs. just trying to farm more of the unique.

Yes, it can spit back out the same unique with LP. This is actually one of the best ways to get LP.

It always spit back the same Unique, it just rolls whether it gives you LP (then rolls how much) or adding affixes (and rolls that).
The chances are higher that you will just affixes added.

The most common result is adding legendary affixes.
Adding LP is a lot rarer and also most noteably scales with the effective level for legendary potnetial, meaning that Uniques that naturally have lower chance to drop with legendary potential will have a much lower chance to get LP through Nemesis.
Some of the very common uniques I think are almost in the 50/50 range, while some extreme examples like for Example Event Horizon are in the one digit % range to get LP.
This is anectodal, but in 1.1 I tried getting LP on Event Horizons through the Nemesis system ~150 times and only 2 were succesful.
Really good info here. Now that I’m into 350 corruption (for the first time ever) I think farming them should be a lot more forgiving. I am also thinking of trying the merchants guild one day… Maybe on my 5th or 6th alt haha!
