Force stand still and "Left-Click" Skill button please!

This is really messing me up when I come from playing D4 and PoE2, etc. Can we please, have a “Force stand still” option key binding?

Can we please have the ability to assign a skill to the “Left-Click” button as well that isn’t the way it currently is? (Current is not the same as the other games).

I’m really used to a “Generator” / “Spender” Left/Right mouse button config. and Last Epoch is the only game I can’t do that in. Why do you have to be different than the acceptable norm here?

Thank you -

What do you mean? You enable “Alternative Interaction Mode” and assign Left Click to an ability.

Yeah, I’ve messed with that but it doesn’t act the same to me. I’ll try using “AIM” more but not having force stand still is a negative and should be an easy add.

Example: “Chthonic Fissure” using Left-click “move or attack” mode, doesn’t work unless you hold “Shift” and that is the function I’m wanting to specify another key for (like Space Bar).

I don’t want to hold “Shift” as my force stand still option and I don’t see anything in the controls to change this.

"Alternative Interaction Mode” would be perfect and the problem solved, if we could assign another key instead of “Shift” - Easy fix

Oh, maybe because I’m using WASD to move I don’t face the same issues as you.
You could try “Force Move”, but then you move only when pressing a key.

Yeah, I use: “Q, W, E, R” or “A, S, D, F” depending on the game. I have never gotten used to the WASD method, so the Shift key is too far away for me. I prefer to slam by thumb on the space bar

Sorry, could you clarify why the current options don’t allow for this?

@EHG_Kain
This is what doesn’t work and why I would like it configurable

Ah, I certainly agree with Force-stand still, I read it as being two separate issues. If it’s just the force-stand button assignment, I’ll definitely get the feedback to the team!

While having you here @EHG_Kain, I’ll highjack the thread
Could you also look into abilities that force move by mouse eventhough WASD is enabled?
E.g. while Warpath is active / “channeled” the character automatically moves to the mouse cursor and WASD input has no effect.

I can certainly relay the feedback, however I would note that For movement abilities, like Warpath, this is intentional as part of the skill behavior. They’re not intended to be able to stand still on a spot, and accounting for their movement is part of the skill. For all of the strengths WASD has, it does have a weakness in that movement is a boolean, it doesn’t have degrees of movement speed like controlling distance with a mouse, or degree of angle with an analog stick. Perhaps it’s food for thought if not changing design.

Yeah, this is @Shathor is talking about. Having Warpath move toward the cursor while channeling. He wants what you are saying is the intended, but apparently isn’t happening when using Warpath and WASD.

If warpath was controlled by WASD, not the mouse, and it can’t stand still, what direction should it move in when no movement key is held? As WASD is a boolean, should it maintain maximum speed in the last direction pressed? This is what I was referring to sorry: It feels like it wouldn’t be a very good experience because of this limitation with WASD in its current mechanics.

Edit: I just did some testing, and there may be a bug where if you use WASD when warpathing it stops responding to the mouse direction and you need to re-start the cast. I’m reporting this to the team.

Mouse cursor by default, ie, WASD overrides the direction it moves in. Or at least have it as an option.

This is an issue, though a potentially janky work around would be to have the speed based on the cursor distance from character.
