Does Barrier’s 40%DR stack with the 30%DR base with the skill or are the 5 points just giving an additional 10%DR?
The node says its multiplicative so it should stack, just not additively (so it won’t give you 70% dr versus hits).
Its multiplicative, so its will give you 58% DR (against hits) in total, if you spec all 5 points into Barrier.
Here is the calculation:
1 * (1 - 0,3) * (1 - 0,4) = 0,42
1 * 0,7 * 0,6 = 0,42
You take 42% of the damage, hence 58% DR (against hits)
Even more (other) sources of DR would just stack multiplicatively with that as well.
So if you would have another 10% DR from another source you would end up with 62,2% DR (against hits)
1 * 0,7 * 0,6 * 0,9 = 0,378
