Please, anyone tell me if I am hallucinating. In the past couple of days, the following events happened (all in Monolith).
I was close to a few small mobs when the death screen appear claiming that I had died from a “nova.” I saw nothing to indicate such an effect.
I was fighting a couple of fur-clad tall jumping dudes. A white circumference appeared on the ground, indicating the something was going to happen in the area. Immediately after that, in a small fraction of a second the death screen appeared and THEN the guy jumped and landed on the spot.
This one wins the cake: in one of the “mini-arena” zones of the Monolith, I was fighting small mobs and a red giant enemy, when the screen appeared telling that I had dies from some kind of punch attack. The dude was on the other end of the screen.
Does anyone else have similar experience? Is there anything I can do in the game settings? My PC is quite good and so is my connection.
The only experience of this as of Patch 083 and 084 are “Void Spires” in the “Shrouded Plateau” Map Layout, their AoE Telegraph is not visible on that map layout.
Other than that, i never died form a source unknown to me.
Never had anything “nova” related causing my death that I am aware of.
Very rarely, I have seen where AoE attacks are not level with the ground. I was clearing a beacon where there was uneven ground, the top 1/4 of the circle cutting into the ground, so too were the void blasts from the void horrors in that top 1/4. Sometimes the colors of the AoE’s do blend into the ground, so you do need to be aware of the colors.
I thought it was my imagination but I do have one experience with the small necrotic blobs that can shoot charged laser. Felt like I die before they shoot it. At melee range though, so I might only see the end of the animation
Normally, the circles on the ground appear long ahead of the attack, letting the players know to move out. Today, a single circle of the smaller kind appeared under me and then, almost immediately, the death window popped up and THEN the guy threw his rocks. This is the second time this happens with that kind of enemy, which is otherwise quite an easy one. The enemy was alone, so no interference with other animations or mobs.
