Fire based mobs deal much more damage than lightning/ice

I am not sure if its just me but I have noticed that given the same amount of elemental resistance, fire based mobs (i.e. covenants, siege engines, ausprix lightmage etc etc) tend to do a lot more damage than the other element types.

This is just a pattern I have noticed from doing a lot of mono runs after I cap my characters resistances, in which case is this intended or an oversight?

This may be difficult to work out objectively as there are so many unknowns…

imho, the lightning elementals, merunas/meruna golems and the ice elementals/golems can pack quite a punch too…

I think the main thing here could be the telegraphed hits tend to do more damage as you are supposed to gtfo - I have a feeling that may be why you are “experiencing” this uneven damage feeling… I think this is likely part of the design of the game - if its telegraphed its going to hit harder than if it isnt… and all the mobs you mention have telegraphed hits…

Speculating really - there are plenty of discussions on the forum about telegraphed hits one shotting you and mob damage balancing issues where even white level mobs can give you a run for your money if you are not careful.

The difference is that this type of damage is usually damage over time which is a lot easier to deal with compared to something taking 80%+ of your health.

Also its not really an issue with telegraphing, all of these abilities regardless of the element get telegraphed. The point is that the telegraphed abilities of fire based mobs tend to deal more damage then the telegraphed abilities of other elemental mobs.

I dont agree. From my experience, other than the lightmage none of the fire mobs you mention ever really gave me any hassles to the point wherre I felt their damage was disproportional… By contrast I felt that the Merunas & ice elementals always nailed me just as hard as the lightmages…

Having played the game for long enough to understand its mechanics and knowing how to mitigate the various damage, none of the mobs really bother me anymore even when creating new characters…

Problem with this discussion is that it would be really hard to get the actual figures for an objective definitive answer… i.e. we would need to know the exact damage numbers - independant of a particular characters build/equipment/stats/passives etc…

I dont think anyone other than the devs has this info…
