Final week of season used for balance change testing

Hi guys,

By the final week a lot of players have stopped and the remaining players like me are usually just grinding for fun. Why not use that week to implement some of the major balance changes that need addressing while people have good gear and can see the viability of that build going into the new season AND provide early feed back for you guys to see if somethings nerf to the ground or balanced and still able to kill uber (goal for lots) or able to run high corruption (goal for others)

such things -

  • the interaction of umbral blades with flow - Umbral blades by itself is also way to strong
  • flow in general - more dmg to inc dmg
  • ward generation due to so many shadows
  • rampancy/brutality scaling down
  • 1 affix max on amulets with conversion
  • Imprints

It’s just an idea, after 4 to 6 months using the last week really shouldnt upset anyone and I mean heck you were down to 1600 players in the last week before this season and we’re already down to almost sub 4k last night. Balance has always been a word you throw around so lets see some of it put in place. I also think that old poll with 70k players and a small majority voting against early/mid balance should be disregarding. 43k Day one, 27k of those votes not even counting, resend the email IMO or just out right say “if a build is expecting far beyond expectations we will balance it” - meaning if you’re seeing sub 45 second ubers within a week or 2. Heck by your own statements you think it should be a 2 minute fight anyway.

Why are you so fixated on flow? Latest “oneshot everything” umbral blades build on lastepochtools, and here is the video with full explanation why umbral blades have that ridicolouse amount of damage. And flow is just icing on the cake of mechanics and their interrelations. Will you be fine if umbrall blades damage drops by half?

Could you link the video? I can’t seem to find it. I also still think without seeing it flow should be INC dmg not MORE. No other class has any skill even remotely capable of that. Umbral was buffed without needing it, last season testing recalled blades with only 1 x T7 was still doing way over 100m dmg. It’s obscene. The balance in 1.4 is broken. Worst I’ve seen in my 2000 hours. The new ammy interactions with frenzy belt for melee? Hilarious!

BTW though this thread was more for the 1 week of testing pre release then ideally we could avoid ridiculously strong builds like this in the game - strong/godlike thus making people work harder to get to the end result and thus keeping more people in the game for longer in the season as that would be a great result

Here the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11vZPt_3o7Q . I think main problem in Shadow Rend is that it generates overhelming amount of shadows. If this skill were built around mirages instead of shadows, it would still be interesting and usefull, but it wouldn’t break Rogue.

Ahhh yep I’ve seen that one you can see he’s using the flow stacks on the 1 hit for insane dmg in the clips~ you’re right though WAY to many shadows and its causing absolute carnage with ward and dmg and like while you’re in smoke dodge maxed out and armor higher than my sentinel and all the other goodness, it’s wild!

Off subject but I also really don’t like the look of rend shooting out little versions of me looks kinda gimmicky! I miss generic old lightning charkrams using sync strike but they nerfed chakram of all things on non direct casts - the things they did nerf this league make 0 sense to me - acid flask, chakrams and some other things so annoying
