Hi
Im d2 d3 and Poe player before now I play this awesome game and have some things
Will be cool to add some kind of charm like annihilus or tor h in d2 or watchers eye in Poe.
Let me explain
While I progress monoliths it makes me borring after make 300-500 of echos
How about each monolit has one echo of trial (or something ) where boss drops (example 25% to drop) some kind of fragment (piece) for entrance to boss. Each kind of monolith has exact part of this entrance. This targeting to farm every one monolith.
When you get pieces from all monolith to collect entrance you have arena with boss. Boss always drop small idol 1x1 with stats:
Normal monolith:
+1 to random skill for any class (like multishot fireball ect)
Empower monolith:
+2 to random skill
This is strong item hard to farm and hard to get correct your needs but gives a reason to farm all monoliths and go inside of each harder.
I play last epoch on pc and steam deck it works much better than before on handheld you should go to get VERIFY status for steam deck on steam platform guys for sure much more people will be interested this game.
Ok one more thing than
I donât feel any endorfin spikes when I play this game for sure this is the problem. How you feel when you dropped jah ber ohm in d2 or divine in poe?
Last epoch donât have something like this
Not completely.
D2 had some stuff which was BiS and was static, like high runes, and the feeling of those dropping was a big dopamine hit. And the rare uniques like Shako were also static, so seeing one drop was also a big dopamine hit. But they dropped very rarely and you got most of them via trading.
In PoE divines donât really give me dopamine hits, since theyâre relatively common drops by now. I did have that dopamine hit during the Harvest/Heist leagues when an exalted would drop, since that was rarer.
I get more dopamine hits in PoE with rare div cards these days.
In LE you can get the dopamine hit when you get that rare T7 exalted you need for your build so you can finally slam it, or when you get that 3LP unique you were chasing. But since uniques arenât static like they are in D2, you can still have weak rolls, so the dopamine hits arenât as strong, although they happen more often.
It will also depend on if you use MG or CoF (I prefer CoF).
In the end itâs a matter of preference. I enjoy the LE drops rate and the chase for better stuff and especially the fact that I donât need that I have to join MG and trade for stuff. PoEâs trade was toxic and one of the biggest reasons why I felt burned out while playing it. D2âs is close to that as well, in my opinion.
So Iâm happy with LEâs CoF and the drops, though I can understand that not everyone feels that way.
Ok I understand your arguments itâs make sence but Iâm still thinking about dopamina spikes is too low here. Also some kind of event to collect pieces to open something bigger will gives some fresh experience (like keys on d2 or fragments to shaper on Poe)
Btw CoF is really amazing if you add option to play offline it makes really good game to play on handheld!
Devs please look at Verified status on Steam deck.
Curious fact:
The Shaper was not in PoE until 2.4.0 version, roughly 3 years after the official release.
That season had as main core addition the âAtlas of Worlds expansionâ. Somewhat similar to what is scheduled for 1.3 in Last Epoch, the âMonolith of Fate expansionâ.
So I guess, yeah, we gonna have those kinds of things⌠itâs just that PoE is 12 years ahead content-wise, while LE is only 5 months in and have a long way before they implement all core mechanics.
I must say that the loot filter sounds for me play a huge factor in how excited I am about drops. Dropping a divine is a lot better because of the swoosh sound that the loot filter makes to inform you that something âbigâ has dropped.
The fact that LE does not have customizable loot sound is really a shame.
Iâm sure it will come eventually, much like minimap beacons. We just donât have them yet mostly for two reasons:
1- Performance issues (which at this point shouldnât be too hard to overcome, but Iâm sure it was a bigger issue before)
2- More important things on the list to implement for now
Agreed, these are the small things that I hope that they eventually get around doing.
Like making keys not take inventory slots (treat them like crafting materials).
Also, my guess is that the performance issue is non-negligible⌠I donât know how their implementation is, but in general Unity does not really like to have too many sound sources playing at once.
Mike said that is going to happen soon, possibly in 1.2.
I think when they started out making LE it really wasnât (much like zones persisting, which is why we get new instances when we portal out and back in), but they seem to have made great progress in optimizing the game since then.
Also, Mike also said theyâre upgrading to the new Unity version, so that might also help.
Umh⌠thatâs what he said? That PoE simply has 12 years ahead of LE and hence LE is catching up quickly simply. Itâs nonetheless new and the expectations should be handled accordingly? You canât compared a established massive product with a newcomer in the segment properly.
LE is a good game for what it provides already⌠and itâs objectively worse in the amount of content then PoE, which is a âduhâ moment simply, some people are going pikachu faced when hearing it as if itâs a new revelation. Itâs the norm.
Hence give the game time and check in regularly⌠simple as that. The only issue happens when progress in LE lags behind the progress which PoE makes for example, putting even more disparity between them.
Which is also why LE has to be seen as a big competitive product on the diablo-clone market since it brought PoE to implement a functional automated currency exchange into the game which has changed the trading environment massively towards the better.
