Few suggestions to improve loot filters (and loosely related bazar)

Few ways to improve loot filter that I think would be wery usefull:

  1. Allow in some way to use small filter inside another filter.
Reason: Most of my loot filters start the same way at the bottom (hide most things, recolor for ascension) and same way at the top (recolors for usefull idols for builds I am playing, rare affixes to shatter, 6/6 7 and 7/7 exalts) with option to include smaller filter, not only I would not need to repeat the same 16 rules at the top of each filter, I could keep them updated in one place when playing different characters.
  2. Allow to not only filter by affix tier but also by rolled value
Reason: Some affixes (especially on idols, but it could be usefull also in extra late game when hunting for BIS items) are not interesting if they are not near maximum or at max value. Great example are resistance idols but after while also other idols (like smite on throw chance) which aren’t interesting with low values
  3. Allow beam definition in loot filter or at least add option to add small icon or add more colors.
Reason: This may be only my personal kink but I like to color code my drops to see what is dropping. It would be nice to know not only this is idol with two great affixes but also that it is for concrete build. Also Exalted with only one 6 affix are not interesting in later stages of game and it would be nice to have more options.

Few ways to improve merchant guild UI/selling buing process (if some of it is implemented, forgive me, I didn’t play merchant guild this cycle)

  1. Point 2 from loot filter section.
Reason: While it is not as necessary in loot filter, in auction house it is devastating to try to find for example idol with some affix of %value X or higher. You need to go through multiple pages and look at every listing to not miss the thing you are looking for and there is no way to know that you didn’t miss what you want for cheaper other than literally going through all items with the right affixes.
  2. Allow quick search and even better quick search and sell feature by just moving item to box and hitting a button.
Further explanation: It could work something like this: You put item into box, there would pop up options for each affix and other parameter of item with range values defaulting to value on the item, you then can select > >= = <= < for each of them and if you want you can change any of the values from item. Items will be filteret against selected values.
Reason: This would greatly decrease time investment needed to try to get reasonable place for item you want to sell and also greatly decreased time needed to find upgrades for your existing gear.
  3. Allow to filter results by active loot filter in addition to inserted conditions by simple checkbox.
Reason: Again this would in my opinion greatly decrease time needet to spend in auction house to find what you want and increased usability. Also linking bazaar to loot filter could decrease future work needed to improve bazaar because when you would improve loot filters, it would also improove bazaar by association.

Thanks for great game. All of those suggestions are not big deal to deal with and there may be some tehnical limitations to why they would need too much work to be worth the effort, but it would be really nice to have at least some of those or simillar alternative in one of the next cycles.

This would be nice.

Often asked, it’s not something the devs are interested in doing so that you don’t end up with a situation like in Poe where you only see drops that you know you will pick up. They want you to evaluate stuff on the ground and decide if you want to pick up or not.
We might disagree with them or not, but for now it’s their design decision and it’s not likely to change.
On the other hand, they had the same stance on LP in filter and they changed their minds, so it might happen sooner or later.

This is something the devs actually want to eventually do, but much like sounds it’s more due to technical/performance issues.

MG UI will be updated sometimes during the cycle. Unless it gets delayed until next cycle start, but they did say they wanted to release it in this cycle still.
I’m guessing it’s not finished yet, but either way they’re working on it.

There is a mоd (using mоds is against the TоS!), that allows to filter by item rolls and unique names and to customize item icons on the minimap. It works online. I found out about it on Twitch, a streamer was using it, and I didn’t notice any performance issues. It’s even open source, in case EHG wants to implement it into the game. There is a huge demand for a better loot filter, numerous threads and 3000 mоd downloads prove it. A large portion of players already enjoy the improved loot filter QoL, and also I want to, but without breaking the TоS, so I hope spreading this will bring us closer to a bright QoL future.

If a mod does that in offline, that’s fine. It’s just 1 computer. The performance issues arise when thousands of people are using it on the servers and the servers have to deal with that lots of times per second.

Also, mods aren’t against ToS as long as you use them offline and you don’t change any of the game files. Which doesn’t seem like the case with this one.
