On the video above. Did EHG make any adjustments to the closest Orobyss echo like say–nerfed drop rates or “can’t have 200-corruption-boss-specific drops”? So I was testing like decreasing my corruption then doing the Orobyss echo near the start point to see if I’ll get Apathy (weapon) at 250-350C. But so far I’ve noticed drops are all trash despite high at corruption. And just maybe, I feel like I got more drops from Orobyss echoes far from the start point. And is this considered “exploiting”?
About “Empowering”. Does a unique that got 0->1 LP from the process can still get more like from 1->2LP from succeeding “empower”? Assuming it doesn’t. Is it already “safe” to Challenge the Harbinger once you get 1LP from it also assuming you don’t need the other items or am I missing something great from Challenging them fully?
What does the “chance to upgrade” mean in these kind of items? Is it similar to how “empower” works in the main thing? ↓
What happens to your unique if you died from the Harbinger if you challenged them? Gone forever? Don’t wanna try it myself. lol
Corruption has almost no impact on the drop rate of LP. See my channel for 1.0 LP probability. I only saw small changes from 0-1Lp and 1-2LP at empowered and at 400C
Most builds won’t reach 400C, and I went all way to 700C. Your best bet is still to farm at the point where you can clear the fastest.
Sorry I wasn’t clear, I mean, not talking about items drops having LP in it in higher corruption but rather I’ve never seen a single Apathy drop even 0LP from Orobyss echoes near the start point.
According to LP item data base. The odds are around 25% if your farming at above 50C (where it is unlocked). Some people speculate it is hard locked to a +8 Orobos or higher. [can’t test it as it takes 100K+ drops]
But from what I seen with 1.0. Corruption won’t affect boss drops in a meaningful manner. And blessing and prophecies also don’t effect boss drops (according to re-edit)
Now to clarify. Orobos has a lot of items. Can’t find what it’s classified as. As some items are common, rare and epic (you need to have it first roll that category and then roll the item).
Keep trying but keep in mind Orobos is fickle beast
I assume you mean the corruption catchup echo that spawns when you have another mono at higher corruption? If so, I don’t think they made changes since implementing. I remember Mike being asked on stream if you could farm Oros by going to a lower corruption mono, doing an echo, doing Oro, then lowering corruption and repeating it and he said that it should be possible.
I mean, most players would probably call it exploit-y, probably. I think it’s something the devs haven’t considered when they implemented this catchup mechanic.
That being said, it would be a legal exploit. Much like going into a crowded echo and leaving before finishing the objective so you can farm favour.
If the devs don’t like the strategy, they’ll change something to prevent it. But in this specific case, it would have been on the patch notes.
It can. Each empower has a chance to improve 0-3LP. So you can get 1LP and then 2LP or even 4LP. Or 3LP and then it stays at 3LP.
Of course, odds of higher LP are much lower.
It means that it has a chance, when killing an Arby, to change into the upgraded version (Avenged Sun Beak). I think the higher the chance, the better the implicits.
What unique? If you mean a unique on the ground, if you die it’s gone. Otherwise, you don’t lose gear when dying ever.
Terminology is important here, I believe you are actually talking about the Nemesis when you say Harbinger. When you challenge the Nemesis and die the items still stay with the Nemesis and you can keep challenging it until you kill it, then you get those items.
On the other hand, if you are actually talking about the Harbinger, then they just don’t drop anything, and you have to try over again is all.
The fact that you said “challenged them” indicates to me that you’re talking about the Nemesis, but it could be just that you’re talking about checking the box for the Harbinger when you fight the timeline boss.
As for the “chance to upgrade”, as @DJSamhein said you get the upgraded version. You can check the “Avenged” versions of all these items on lastepochtools.com, just search for “Avenged” or “Harbinger” and you will find them.
Ah yes, that might make more sense.
So with a Nemesis 4 things might happen:
-You kill him and don’t die. Yay. Take your item and have fun.
-You die and the Nemesis doesn’t. Nothing happens. Next time you encounter the Nemesis it’s in the same state as it was and you can either empower him again, challenge, etc.
-You die and the Nemesis has a DoT on him and he dies after you. This has been patched (in 1.1.6) so that if there are no living players when he dies he doesn’t drop the items and the same thing happens as in the previous point.
-The Nemesis dies and then you die from a DoT or from another mob. The Nemesis drops his items and you lose them.
So there is only one instance where you can lose the items. Having a way to cleanse ailments is very useful in preventing that.
With how EHG changed how Corruption works in 1.0, so I’m guessing they lowered the needed corruption for certain items to drop? Since pre-1.0, you need at least 200 corruption for Apathy to drop from Orobyss, and other uniques to drop in monolith. But yeah, after doing the said method many times which I thought an “exploit”, I’ve never seen a single Apathy in the catch-up Orobyss echo (near the start point). I guess luck was just not on my side.
I feel like they will change how this works in the future since they want us to explore the monolith to begin with. Feels wrong but with how annoying it is to farm and even get to to one Orobyss echo node, it really takes a while. So part of me wants to stay the way it is.
Ah yes you’re right, Nemesis. My bad and I got so confused when I was making this topic. But I thought whatever you placed on the “egg”, and you died challenging the Nemesis would make you lose the unique you placed there. I thought once you “challenge” them, there’s already the risk of losing all the presented items. Glad to hear the items there stays.
Thanks for the replies. I got all the answers I need
From my knowledge no, there was no corruption squish. All they did was make it harder to get into high corruption. So all they did was make it harder to farm and lock more items because a longer grind. They never want you to have fun and frankly i am sick of it
No they didn’t. Quite the opposite, actually. They implemented a quick catchup mechanic for monos that are below the highest mono.
The only thing they changed recently was adding a soft cap to corruption at 500c for xp/drop bonuses. But it’s a soft cap, meaning that 1k corruption will still give you a higher bonus than 500c.
I was assuming he meant the shade echo that shows on due to the corruption catchup mechanic.
Lowering corruption and farming that echo over and over again might be considered exploit-y.
Kinda like finding a high density beacon echo and not finishing the objective to farm favour is kinda exploit-y.
Yeah, but clearing a node and not completing the objective so you can play the same node again and again isn’t what the devs intended as the gameplay loop.
