Feedback season

I convinced 3 friends to play the game and we played co-op for 3 days. We did Aberroth and 500+ corruption, and the game didn’t present any challenge. They’re all beginners, and if any of them died more than 3 times during the whole playthrough, that’s a lot.

The numbers in this game are scaling way more on our power than on the difficulty. All classes feel extremely strong. Each of us made our own builds, and they all worked just fine.

These are people with very little ARPG experience, and yet it felt like everything just worked.

I lost the motivation to keep getting stronger, because every time I power up, it feels like the game becomes more about walking and one-shotting everything without even thinking. It’s satisfying for a moment to feel strong, but it becomes frustrating when you realize nothing is going to challenge you — not even Aberroth. With a well-polished build, you can literally stand still, kill him with lifesteal, ward, or an invincibility skill.

I think bosses in general should be buffed. The campaign is a joke, and the regular monoliths too. I believe a game should have a medium-paced progression — not let you experience all of the game’s content in just 2 days and under 40 hours. In Diablo 4 or PoE, you can have insane builds that break the game, but getting them often takes a week or more of farming.

I think the core of this game is great, but it fails in many areas. If they could introduce real difficulty modes that aren’t tied to corruption levels — maybe even just a proper difficulty setting — that would help.

Loot drops should also be more scarce. Even with a very niche loot filter, every 4 maps I have to check item by item.

Another criticism is the lack of need to use multiple skills. I played all classes and literally all of them are just spamming one main skill, and occasionally pressing another button for movement or invincibility.

There should be better synergy between skills, encouraging players to actually combo abilities instead of just spamming one. The only build I found that was a bit different was Shadow Cascade, which had a 3-skill combo — I’d love to see more of that, encouraging players to chain skills together.

Elite monsters should be way stronger and have dangerous attacks — like elites in Diablo or Path of Exile. Right now, you just walk straight through them without any fear and kill everything.

Bosses need a full rework to actually be threatening. If you take damage, you should really feel it. They should stack debuffs, have way more HP — or alternatively, nerf player damage and balance it out so bosses feel more impactful. A lot of bosses also need faster attacks — many are so predictable and slow that they’re not a threat at all. Their telegraphed skills do no damage, so we just stand still and ignore them.

I really hope they adjust the numbers and rework the campaign and monolith bosses so they feel memorable and challenging. I don’t mind having strong builds — as long as there are threats that match their power.

Try doing more corruption you will get to a difficulty you are happy with. You still have the pinical boss to kill. So maybe EHG has already anticipated that some would find the game to be easy and added mechanics to solve that.

Just keep increasing corruption. It’s infinitely scaling, so it will inevitably reach a point where it feels challenging, just like it will inevitably reach a point you can’t handle anymore as well.

Also, Aby was the pinnacle of last season. For this season he was actually nerfed (so he’s easier to kill) and we have uber Aby, which should be much much much harder to kill. In fact, no one has killed him yet, I think (at least EHG hasn’t made an annoucement on it and they usually do).

In PoE, yes. In D4, no.

One button builds are possible in all ARPGs. PoE is no exception to this, either. There are plenty of them.
But there are plenty of builds that work combos into their rotation. You should look especially at Runemaster, I think.

I just wanted to write my new feedback and i couldnt agree more with your points.
The game is wayyyyyy to easy. I like the game but i barely feel any challenge and i like being challenged
