- I wanna start off by saying the work you’ve done is amazing — you understood the assignment and created a really complete space for a player to build a personalized gaming experience. The new crafting runes utterly redefined the way we progress and massively pushed the limits of item creation, which is a huge positive for both early and endgame content.
As a min-maxer and endgame player myself, I want to bring back the topic of corruption and its scaling, because it still feels like an issue to me how narrow the perspective of progression is. Sadly, for chronically online players who suffer from “never-enough” syndrome, it’s been a pretty devastating hit to lose corruption experience scaling — it basically closed the gates for pushing a build’s limits and optimizing its gear.
To some degree, this is still, IMO , a huge design issue that feels unfair and frustrating. A simple example would be a poorly built Erasing Strike character with 1LP gear (focused on offensive suffixes) performing just fine up to 1k corruption, while other classes/builds actually have to balance affixes and farm higher LP gear to include more than just offense — just to keep up. Sometimes, it’s okay and even expected for different builds to have different strengths — but in this case, the gap feels so fundamental that it looks like a design flaw to me.
My main point is that there’s no longer a reason for me to min-max my VK, since it no longer improves the performance of my farming or item generation speed. Pushing corruption doesn’t offer any real challenge-to-reward ratio anymore. No more significant favor, no more ambers, no more fun.
Coming back to power balance and build issues — I believe every class currently has a build that can handle way higher corruption with ease. It’s not that Sentinel is too OP right now. I could achieve the same as a Warlock, Mage, etc. — and in that case, I believe the difficulty from further progression would naturally balance out differences in specific performance areas, making things feel fairer in the long run.
So time to nerf VK?
it’s not VK problem, its a larger issue among many classes
