Feedback on 1.4

Since I always leave feedback per season I’m going to do it again but this time it’s going to be a little different but it’s still valuable feedback.

I’ll start by saying I didn’t play S4. You might not think that’s not important feedback but I think the reasons why are important.

You have not fixed you game therefore it’s not fun to play and this time I chose not to go through an entire week to reach empowered and then quit because I had neither fun during the campaign, nor during normal monos and then couldn’t have fun in empowered because I wasn severely under powered to be able to do them.

You have said it before in a podcast. Most players quit when they reach empowered monos and that is certainly very true for me. I quit because I get there and I can’t progress like I told you a million times. Stop placing progression blocks in your game. Empowered is the only place where gear starts dropping and your players can’t play if they die constantly because they have no gear. They need a place to farm and the bare minimum is empowered monos.

I also need my grand blessings and again, they are only on empowered. You need to make Empowered 100 corruption as easy as level 90 normal monos or players are going to keep falling off as quickly we have been or like this time, not even playing at all.

Also your MTX still is terrible, even after you asking us you still did no improvements. The pet was kinda cute, like the spider was in tombs but that’s it. All you have made that looks good are some of the pets. Really look at the art style that PoE and D4 uses and try to emulate it as closely as possible. Your metal should look like metal, not some sort of thick plastic, your cloth shouldn’t look like old leather and so on. Make things look like what they are trying to represent, it’s that simple. Also wouldn’t complain with some more sexier clothes and I don’t mean practically naked stuff, I mean sexy but tasteful. imagine a sort of mage dress that looks more like a night dress with a long side cut and so on but please, make cloth look like cloth.

Fix the enemies that are broken. Everything after lagon including lagon deal like 3x more damage than every other enemy in the game and that is broken. Not only it feels terrible that every white mob can oneshot you with a crit it also creates a fluctuation where monos become much easier or much harder depending on whether there are broken mobs and how many there are.

After that start fixing thing starting with the necromancer minions. I am tired of your excuses. They are not supposed to be dying constantly, in fact they are not supposed to be dying at all if my build and gear is appropriate for the difficulty I’m playing.

Stop multiplying mana costs for multiple summons of things like minions and totems. We are paying for that with points instead of giving it extra damage, we shouldn’t be paying more mana for a little bit of QoL.

As you also know, I am not happy with the monetization changes but more importantly, what will keep me and everyone from playing are the empowered monolith issues. If I don’t play I don’t spend money, that simple. If I don’t see MTX that looks good, I also don’t spending money. Don’t forget, first you gotta give me a reason to play, then you gotta give me a reason to spend money.

It’s this simple. Make the game you said you were going to make. Right now LE is MUCH harder than PoE. I can get to PoE end game and any non pinnacle content no problem. In LE I can’t even start end game (because end game only really starts at empowered monoliths, not normal).

PS: I’m sure there will be trolls and gaslighters in the thread saying the game is easy. I am not even going to bother answering to you. You are wrong especially the moment PoE which is a hardcore ARPG is orders of magnitude easier than LE. I’ll only leave my feedback to the devs and not even look at the LE forum because I know who lurks here and they want to make good feedback invalid so they keep destroying the game.

That is totally not true though, you can totally farm more gear in the higher normal timelines, especially if you struggle with the transition from normal to empowered.

With this patch they made the transition from normal to empowered even faster (if you want), but you need to have a very very strong build for that and if you don’t have that you need to prepare more.

The mindset that anything below empowered is “not efficient” or “not worthwhile” is something I do hear a lot, but I am not sure if that is less a thing that LE does “bad” and more a thing that streamers, content creators and the elite gamers in the community force upon themselves and the rest of the community. Everywhere you hear people say that its not worth spending a lot of time in normal timelines, but there is nothing wrong with spending a few more playhours in normal timeliens until you have the level and gear to tackle empowered.

This is also a burden you put upon yourself. You DO NOT need the grand blessings, they are not build enabling, they just offer more fleixiblity with the rest of your gear, but normal blessings are totally fine.

While disliking the new mtx is udnerstandable, since its highly subjective. They objectively improved. Everything looks much much better in terms of raw quality and materials.

All the new mtx do apply this though. The Cloth looks like cloth and the metal looks like metal. Maybe htis is a graphic setting on your side(if oyu even booted up the game and looked for yourself?)

While I wouldn’t say mob balance is perfect, it is already in a much better place comapred to 2-3 patches ago. But your descirption is clearly exeggerated.

Hard disagree, LE is much easier than PoE, both 1 and 2.

That’s fine and it will nto really affect the devs reading your feedback, but nontheless some parts of your feedback are highly subjective and you speak with a very specific urgency with makes it sounds like facts. But a lot of your feedback is not as factual as you make it out to be.

Why do you feel so inclined to leave feedback on something you didn’t even play? You didn’t even say which build it is you’re struggling so hard in (presumably something involving Necromancer minions).

As someone who has also had massive problems jumping the >100 Empowered Mono progression roadblock, I definitely feel your pain, but you’re entirely wrong.

I dusted up a build I had lying around multiple seasons ago and was completely dead, centered a complete redesign around a good Unique item, prioritized Health when gearing everything else, and used the CoF prophecies to get myself Exalted items playing T3 dungeons and Arena. After a few hours of this, I was able to break the hump and play through Empowered Monos as if I made this build from the ground up.

And if all else fails, find an established build that you know works and use that to farm the gear for your more experimental concepts. This game isn’t certainly easy, but it’s much more accessible now in terms of getting the gear you need than the game has ever been.
