[Feedback] - Lagon fight (Echo boss) as melee and some auto target skills

I will start by explaining the build I am playing with: I am playing as a Paladin using the new “Aurelis” sword and Multistrike skill to auto cast the Smite skill.

How it works: As stated in the sword, every time I attack a boss or rare monster with Multistrike, I have a 100% chance to cast Smite on the target.

The problem: Due to the size and Hitbox of the Lagon boss, some Melee skills are really hard to tell if they are hitting the boss correctly, you can’t tell for sure if the Smite cast by the sword proc is hitting the boss, although you can tell if the boss has the “Electrify” debuff. Additionally, the skill “Lunge” does not work on the boss and partly on the tentacles in interphase, it only works if the skill is used very close to the tentacles and sometimes it does not work at all.

Because of all this, the Melee skills have to be used at the edge of the arena where we fight the lagon, which often causes move lock and which makes it difficult to dodge some attacks, and the ideal would be to be able to hit the boss from any place and distance on the platform. In monoliths, from the second phase, the boss starts summoning waves that pass through the platform and due to having to stay stuck to the edge of the arena, it means that for melee, we will receive the wave attack 100% of the time, since if we go to another place on the platform, the skill may not be able to hit the boss.

It is currently the most frustrating boss for melee for the reasons above. I hope this feedback helps us find a solution for this boss.

What you are describing is well know with Lagon - devs and most players who have gone a few rounds with various builds will pick this up… It all boils down to the fact that his target hitbox is off the ledge well below the visible part of him…

Skills like Lunge just dont work because you cannot target him properly.

A workaround for the issue right now is to stand in the middle and aim for the ledge right in front of him… This is exactly what you describe having to do and its the only option for some builds at the moment… It should allow things to proc and has been successful at targetting him for various skills…

Not personally sure how Multistrike “Air Striking” will work in this particular fight - i.e. I dont know if it will proc Smites from the hit… Havent tried it myself.

Waves need to be tanked… yes, but this is true for most builds not just melee for his second phase… Thankfully they dont hit that hard with the right defences/heal in place.

While this is a well known issue specific to Lagon (and less so but still present on similar bosses) the devs have unforunately not yet figured out how to deal with it… So for now, we have to figure out alternatives to deal with him.

100% sure the Devs will deal with it eventually…

I believe it is not generating Smite procs. To tell you the truth i can’t tell, because you can’t see the boss completely and you can’t see how the skill behaves, even if you use it manually.

You can see the damage numbers though, as they are produced on Lagon’s head.

It’s not easy to see though.
