Falcon Fists Should Give Falconry The Fire Tag

Trying to build for Falcon Fists is kind of a nightmare. It doesn’t give Falconry the fire tag, meaning your Falcon will be dealing almost exclusively physical damage. Meanwhile, Cinder Strike almost exclusively scales its fire damage, neglecting the physical half. You and your falcon will be dealing different damage types, meaning your options to scale both of your damage extremely limited.

Regardless of the Falcon’s tag, minions only ever scale with minion damage. Increased to ‘physical’ or ‘fire’ damage would never effect your falcon anyway. So far as Falconry goes, all of the falcons damage can scale with your % increases to either melee, bow or throwing damage (whichever is highest) as well as your crit rate and crit multiplier. If you wanted to scale both your hit damage and your bird’s hit damage with Falcon Fists, you’d build melee damage and critical strikes. Those would increase both you and your falcon’s damage together and you could use Armor Shred to reduce defenses against both you and your bird’s hits equally.

When I was referring to increases to fire and physical damage, I was mainly referring to the shared damage type affix on idols. Apologies for not specifying.

As for scaling with melee damage and critical strikes: Falcon Fists requires you to be unarmed. Without a weapon, your critical chance will be lacking, and the only place you will really be able to get increased physical damage would be on a shield.

Build Melee damage & Dexterity then for prefixes for damage. Scales both you and the bird. I do agree on the idol affixes, however.
