Hey all.
I’m just starting the game really, I got a Beast master all the way up to end game, and decided to just roll and alt so I could have fun. I noticed I haven’t unlocked factions, and I don’t get why. I should of as I’m nearly at chapter two and it should of unlocked right away. My original character was a SCF character, which makes me think that that choice is making my characters not unlock it on ALTs, but that isn’t said about at all in the in game help. Am I missing something? It is a bit confusing.
On your alts, in the very first town you get to, you have 2 NPCs you can interact with, which will let you join MG or CoF.
You will still have to get to Maj’elka to access the Bazaar or the Observatory, but you get their benefits right away (if you’re CoF) and your XP will count for rank progression immediately.

Except that SCF characters don’t share factions so that is your problem. If your first character was SCF then no items, faction progress, gold, or anything else is shared with your other characters.
If you look in the guide (G) it will explain it.

Ah, that is correct. I hadn’t noticed the SCF bit. In my mind I was reading it as SAF.
In which case, as far as the game is concerned, this isn’t an alt, it’s the same as a first character.

I will say it’s weird this part of on challenges, not in factions. My reaction was to look at factions for clarity, but it’s in challenges. Ah well. Ty for letting me know.
