It’s great that we can access our faction npcs in the first town on a new character, but it doesn’t do you much good when you are locked out of your respective main feature of it because you haven’t gotten to chapter 9 yet.
It’s even more problematic when the game rewards you for not having to complete the entire campaign to enter Monoliths or get all your skill points / idol slots. Like multiple features fighting against each other.
I understand not wanting players to have an instant teleport to chapter 9 from the start and being able to do quests there … as if that really gives an advantage… but it should be possible to block the entrance / exit to upper district if you havent gotten to there via the campaign. That, or give access to faction features via the npcs themselves. It should be straight forward enough to give them dialogue options to choose prophecies / bazaar categories / etc…
But they’d be lvl 1 in a lvl 50+ zone, they’d go splat very quickly, especially with the amount of ranged & poison mobs chapter 9 has.
I think that the “portal to faction area” should be available once you’ve selected a faction. If you do that at lvl 1 & want to try running around chapter 9 in a brutally underlevelled/geared character? Go nuts! Want to go to chapter 9 “early” and try & get that heady +1 all attributes when you think your twinked-to-the-max character can handle it? Do it!
Besides, in MP you can do all of that already (by a friend/random stranger) giving you a lift.
not being able to use the faction feature without reaching the chapter 9 city on an alt is definitely an issue that needs fixing. i don’t see why they can’t just allow to teleport to the faction zone from the start on an alt.
