The weaver system could be expanded to serve the same roles as scarabs / tablets and the much more expansive atlas tree in delivering two things: (1) finer control over extra content to run, and (2) customising the extra content. Some suggestions on how this can be achieved below.
- Woven echo slots delinked from the Weaver tree. For example, up to 15 slots to be unlocked via Weaver faction rank and via end-game boss kills, where each slot causes a 5% chance to generate this woven echo in the echo web instead of a normal echo.
- Weaver relic altar. Altar layouts can be changed similar to idol display cabinet. Weaver relics are new class of items that can improve, modify, or block extra content, or improve or modify normal echoes or mobs.
- Allow echo altars to overwrite existing normal echoes with woven echoes.
- Add fifth tier of woven echoes, and update some of the lower tier ones to move away from being normal echoes with slight changes to have a stronger woven echo identity.
Even more speculative suggestions:
- Remove woven echo reforging entirely. Remove woven echoes as dropped items. Tier 1 woven echoes are unlocked and completed by default, higher tier woven echoes are unlocked by completing specific objectives (e.g., clearing specific monoliths). Only completed echoes can be placed in the echo web crafting bench and woven echo slots.
- Add a new item class (e.g., Weaver blessings) that are used at a monolith to empower that entire monolith in specific ways (e.g., uber monolith boss fight).
- “Faction influence” system that alters echoes, objectives, monolith boss fights, and extra content in influenced echoes, in their own ways.
