In my defense the top google results for “last epoch WASD” is still “We are intentionally not adding WASD to last epoch at this time.” Hope the news fights it’s way to the top of that query soon.
And no, I clearly do not read every set of patch notes and watch dev interviews, all the trailers, etc. before trying a game lol.

What do you mean, eventually? It was widely advertised as coming to Season 2 already. It’s in a beta stage, but it will be available and they say it’s actually pretty good already.
Or watched the trailer. Or the threads discussing it after the trailer.
I didn’t! I started my first character, intending to play a bit before reading patch notes (otherwise you have no frame of reference and they don’t make sense). I did do a bit of googling, but only saw people asking for WASD in the first set of results, nothing confirming it was added.

It is. It was part of the season trailer, listed as beta support. Meaning they will still improve it in the future (like adding strafing), but the devs have said in interviews that they feel it’s pretty good already.
You’re lucky devs announced it, otherwise people here would explain you, how inappropriate it would be to add WASD right now

I’m switching from POE 2 to LE.
There I play with WASD, but to be honest i’ve tried LE for the first time just a second ago and it felt really good.
Lets see what the future holds!
I came back to the game cringing when I couldn’t play with WASD this is a welcome change for sure PoE 2 definitely spoiled me
I’m new to LE but after playing PoE2 for a bit, I was sad to see WASD wasn’t a thing but I’m glad it’s coming!

Some time ago I would also be excited about WSAD, but after spending hours in poe with wsad on warrior I think its a pain. The poe implementation suffers more because of how they made the ‘roll/dodge’ mechanic basically the game itself for melee. Switching back to mouse makes it difficult to play. So you’re basically stuck with wsad or controller. Hope same mistake won’t happen here.
