Exalted gear minimal FP vs. imprints with 0 FP

So I was watching a streamer play, he had his current Exalted helmet imprinted in the Sealed Riches node in the Weaver tree. It was previously crafted on, so obviously the helmet had 0 forging potential remaining. Sealed Riches procced and an exalted helmet dropped, except it only had 1 forging potential.

I found this old post from EHG, where it says exalted items should drop with a minimum of 24 FP:

So the question is, should exalted imprint loot also drop with a minimum of 24 FP?

The helmet in question would be an amazing upgrade for the player, but thanks to the 1 FP it was uncraftable and therefore useless. It felt like a big bait and then came the kick in the nuts

If it was a “natural” drop then yes, it’d have to drop with decent fp, but since it was an imprinted item it should just drop as a copy of the imprinted item. Imagine if you craft up your item to a good level then imprint it, if it then dropped with normal exalted amounts of fp you could then carry on crafting on it & get a second bite at the crafting cherry (maybe a few affixes are short of t5, or you ran out of fp before rerolling them all to max rolls).

That is exactly how I’d expect the imprints to function.

As a way to circumvent the devs limitations on crafting so you could get max roll affixes along with a sealed t4 affix?

Fair enough, I always expected it to just give me another copy of the item as it was when it was imprinted rather than reset the fp.

If I remember correctly, it was used to create double and triple T7 items in season 2, after it was fixed to stop producing red rings  Was double/triple T7 imprinting nerfed too?

But no, you’d either get a sealed T7 thanks to the Warlord’s Riches, or you’d ignore the sealed affix, because you’ll eventually slam the item into a legendary - like most builds do.
