Hello Travelers!
Eterra Monthly will be your one stop post for Recaps and Content of the Month in case you missed anything. This month, we have a large list of new things to see and keep an eye out for. We’re also proud to be re-establishing the Build Spotlight section, as well as the Fanart channel in Discord for your enjoyment! With introductions out of the way, let’s dive in.
Patch 1.1.7 - The Imperial Uprising
September was a big one for Eterra as the Immortal Emperor’s forces multiplied in strength. Travelers from all walks have banded together to repel the undead army, and it’s not too late to join the fight. You can find the original post HERE if you missed the details. September may be over, but the event will press on until October 20th.
Along with this event came the 1.1 Cycle refresh. This means all Cycle Characters have been shifted to Legacy along with their stashes and gear to make way for Cycle players looking for a fresh start. Legacy and Cycle content are no different except joining the Arena Leader boards, which are exclusively for Cycle Characters. So, if you have found your happy place with a particular build, you are not required to start over. Legacy characters are here to stay.
1.1.7 Hotfix Rollout
Patch 1.1.7 received 4 hotfixes this month after its Sept. 19th release. These hotfixes can be found HERE, but we will provide a rundown of the major points below.
1.1.7.1
- Fixed a display bug where passives were displaying incorrectly
1.1.7.2
- Removed the Moon Fragment portion of the “Isle of Storms” quest
- Loot lizard spawn rates have been expanded to as low as Level 12 areas
- Item Label expansion has been condensed for ease of collection
- Reduced frame lag between stash tabs
- Passive point spec bug was fixed
- Item overlapping bug fixed
1.1.7.3
- A stash tab graphical error was created with the launch of 1.1.7.2, and 1.1.7.3 was released to revert this change as a temporary solution
1.1.7.4
- Reduced frame-lag that would happen when switching stashes via the cycle dropdown. Also reduced frame-lag when adding or interacting with stash tabs or categories.
Eyes on Eterra
While patches and hotfixes are a regular thing here in Last Epoch, it goes without saying (but we’re saying it anyway): We want to hear from you! Everything from the biggest of bugs to the simplest of hellos. It’s important to us as a studio and fellow gamers that we strengthen our connection with the community. Without you, we wouldn’t have made it as far as we have; because of you, we intend to keep bringing you our very best.
We also want to take this moment to remind the community at large that the use of exploits and RMT is a violation of the TOS and the Code of Conduct. The team has already begun fighting these infractions that threaten to damage the game for others, and we have no intention of stopping now or ever.
That said, Feedback is important to us, and we’ve recorded below a few of the most common topics we’re seeing and actively discussing internally as a result. Please keep in mind that the team does read everything, but recording it all back in this article would be overwhelming. If you don’t see your feedback, rest assured we have seen it and are taking it to heart. Your love for the game really shines through, and it makes us strive to do better and make better content for everyone.
Feedback and Suggestions from the Community
- Increase Loot Lizard Spawn rate in monoliths
- Add Steam Achievements
- Skill Node to convert Skeletons and Bone Golem to Necrotic Damage type
- More Ailment support for Spellblade
- Item comparison needs to display both equipped rings at the same time
- Campaign experience customization
- Performance and stability improvements
- Dungeon consistency
- Character power balance
- Player defenses (health needs more help against ward)
Build Spotlight
It’s that time again, Travelers, when the team here at EHG comes together to see all the amazing builds you’ve come up with! To kick things off, we’d like to give the spotlight to…
A quote from Imortilize’s build guide describes, “The idea of this build is to run around as a White Walker freezing everything in your path with cold explosions whilst [enemies] rot away from the enormous amount of Frostbite that you apply to them.”
This kind of casual chaos is fun for a lot of travelers, which is why it’s earned the spotlight this month. Imortilize goes on to say “Although this build can be used just fine without any specific uniques, it doesn’t really come together and start excelling until you have the likes of Artor’s Legacy, Frozen Eyes of Formosus, Ribbons of Blood, and Cradle of the Erased available to use.”
One of the big reasons we enjoy this build so much is its casual and fun playstyle. Couple it with its low cost to build and ability to ignore mana management, and it sounds like a decent start to anyone wanting to follow a build guide for the first time. Now, Imortilize did say it would be Difficult to scale the damage into high corruptions and Requires deeper knowledge of how stats interact with minions, but if you’re the type of player wanting to dip your toe into how builds work and really get into the numbers, we think this is the build for you.
We will spotlight a new build every month. Do you have a build you think is worthy of the spotlight? Leave it in the designated Class Forum section on our official forums, or LastEpochTools.com, and the team will review it based on its creative concept and functionality. All build types are welcome and encouraged.
What’s Next for Eterra?
The road ahead is long and filled with trials, but we are ready to travel beside you. With our Dev team constantly working to create and correct nearly around the clock, you can be sure we will have something to bring to the table every chance we get. Performance upgrades and Quality of Life changes are always at the forefront of the community requests, but we also want to improve our bug fixing procedure to prevent players from experiencing things that could break their immersion in game. In the interest of keeping everyone up to speed with our plans, we’re working on a brand new revised version of our roadmap. As we’ve already mentioned in previous blog posts, we’ve chosen to adjust the order of in-game patch content; merging content from the previously planned 1.2 and 1.3 roadmap goals to prioritize the most highly demanded features such as endgame expansion in a new 1.2 Patch.
As mentioned in a previous announcement, we’ve decided to adjust our development priorities and timelines. Our goal with these roadmap changes is to release content to address some of the biggest areas of player feedback at a sooner date. To achieve this, we’re taking many of the features from the previously planned 1.3 roadmap milestone and are designing a much larger, rescoped 1.2 patch. The roadmap with more details regarding the changes will be released for public eyes at a later date in our News Announcements!
Discord Fun
If you’re not a part of our Official Discord, it’s not too late to join. If you’ve been with us for some time, you may have noticed a few new fun things have been added.
Loot Lizards are spawning on Discord!
Ever wonder where these guys go after you chase them around? Well they come to rest with players in the community discord. The loot lizards have been added as stickers for your enjoyment. Feel free to use them however you see fit. We know they won’t mind.
We have also opened our Fanart channel in the server. We’ve recently seen a jump in players wanting to share their work with us and we wanted to provide a dedicated space to do it. With this new channel, we’d like to let you all know about a few rules and expectations that come with it.
