Eterra Monthly: August Edition 2026

Hello Travelers,

Summer’s winding down, but the excitement for Season 5 is heating up. This is the last Eterra Monthly before it hits, so consider this the final briefing before Morditas unleashes his rage across Eterra. Inside: the release date for our countdown to Season 5 calendar, a warm welcome to your new Lead Community Manager, an adorable new addition to Pets of Epoch, and a surprise all-new reveal straight from Mike. Let’s dive in!

Countdown to Season 5: Coming September 14

We’re taking a different approach this season by sharing a countdown calendar leading up to the launch of Season 5. The calendar will show you all a day-by-day map of the events, reveals, streams and more happening between now and the launch of Season 5 on October 1. Mark your calendars: the full Season 5 calendar drops on September 14!

Your New Lead Community Manager

We’d like to take a moment and allow your new Lead Community Manager to introduce himself so without further ado here he is…

Greetings Travelers!

My name is Mickey, and I’d like to introduce myself as your new Lead Community Manager for Eleventh Hour Games! I’ve just recently started with the team, but I have been a Last Epoch player for more than 3 years, plus thousands of hours across Action RPGs since the original Diablo.

I’ve been lucky enough to work around the gaming industry for over 19 years now, and landed here at EHG as soon as I could! My mission will be connecting with our players and fans, and better understanding what makes the experience of Last Epoch special for you all.

I’ll be working alongside some folks you’ve already met, like Vandryll and Derrick, to ensure the player experience is as good as can be, and help equip the development team with the information they need to keep making great games.

The first thing I did on arrival was ask to hear everything there is to know about Season 5, and I can confirm it’s going to be an awesome time. You’ll have to wait for the official countdown that is just around the corner if you want all the details! I’m happy to be here just in time to support this launch, and work towards long term plans for Last Epoch: Orobyss and beyond.

Although I’ve been a member of the Last Epoch community for a while, I want to ask: what do YOU think a new Community Manager should know when they begin? You can let me know in the replies, or reach out wherever you see me chatting with our players: Discord, Reddit, Twitch, in-game… you name it, I’ll be there! :victory_hand:

Pets of Epoch: Orion

This month we introduce you to a beautiful tuxedo/domestic shorthair kitty from our very own DiJi. Say hello to Orion!

Named after Orion’s Belt (though not for any astrological reasons, she’s simply a big fan of Men in Black), this ten-year-old charmer has more personality than most builds we feature. So, if Orion were a Class or Mastery in Last Epoch, what would he be? Honestly, none of them! He’d skip the fight entirely and want to be an NPC in town. Orion is a lover, not a fighter, and he much prefers the safety and comfort of a town to anything resembling combat. Think less “endgame boss” and more “friendly merchant you visit for a chat and a head scratch.”

Name: Orion
Age: 10 years old
Would-be Class/Mastery: None. He is happiest as a town NPC, safe and protected.

Thanks for sharing your best friend with us, DiJi!

Mike’s Teasers

Mike was busy again this month. He shared a first look at multiple uniques coming in Season 5, but we’re surprising you all with something all-new this Eterra Monthly: A brand-new reveal! Take a look at these gloves that open up some new possibilities by giving you Haste and Frenzy. These are called Gift of the Eidolon. Mike will have more about this and other reveals on Friday’s stream!

Check out the rest of the reveals from August below too!

Stay tuned there’s more where that came from as we get closer to launch.

Wrapping Up

That’s a wrap for the final edition of Eterra Monthly before the launch of Season 5: Rage of the Frostborn! From the countdown to Season 5 to a new face joining our community team and Orion stealing hearts in Pets of Epoch plus another brand new reveal, there’s a lot to look forward to over the coming weeks. Be ready on September 14 for the full Countdown to Season 5 calendar. After that the rage is unleashed on October 1!

See you in Eterra!

There was an error in the tooltip that’s been fixed in the Gift of the Eidolon. It’s now correctly showing “2% Increased Effect of Haste on you per 1 of your lowest attribute.”

Would it be possible to have the other teasers as screenshots as the video/animation/whatever is too small for my phone & my aged eyes.

acolyte unique looks cool. going for the biggest army of skeletons ever.

Zzzzzzz ZZZZzzzzz

The cat is cute but you ain’t saving the game.

Orion deserves to be in the best town.
Some of these new uniques lately are huge power creep. Do you think it’s dangerous having so many powerful items on increasingly more item slots?

Makes sense since we had to wait 7 months (again) for a new season.

Hopefully you guys will actually start communicating better with the new community manager.

Aside from that, making us wait two weeks to finally start talking about a season that was supposed to be out 3-4 months ago is still peak EHG I see. And who knows how long the expansion won’t take.

Welcome Mickey,

Glad to have you on-board.

“what do YOU think a new Community Manager should know when they begin?”

That people have been asking for better communication for a long time but not getting it, so you’re under e-pressure I guess.

Not anything crazy, but for example when minion snapshotting was making everyone’s playthrough miserable and we didn’t know if we should just get used to it because we love minions or if the devs were going to fix it…There was no communication until the next season’s patch notes about it.

So something like:

Player: “Hey this is toxic we don’t like it”
CM: <Adds it to the non-existent post of known-issues and “what we’re working on”>
Player: “Oh nice they’re going to remove/fix/whatever in the future. I’ll stick it out then because I know it’ll be resolved at some point”

Welcome and GL!

EDIT: Just to note, I do love the game but even this post is a good example of bad communication. Long delay between seasons, find out it’s in 2 weeks, can’t find a single patch note on what’s happening with builds or tuning etc. just a few random uniques and a picture of a cat.

I will be playing s5 at some point, most likely will have a good time, but this post does nothing to get me excited for it :frowning:

6 months and 4 days (again)

Agreeing with everything else, but we know since 6. August that the new season is 1. October. Full patch notes have usually been posted the last day of “hype week” and so 1 week before launch of a season.

Information is scattered across all these different medium. The cess-pool that is Reddit, Discord and Twitch that is NOT ideal in any way or form to announce anything or even for discussion, while your own forum is basically left to die. Even in the forum the announcement or news posts are scattered across different section. E.g. where is the S5 teaser trailer announcement. It doesn’t even exist.

But… it’s 14. September now.

That’s not October, and not the 1st either.

So any pre-planning for people who usually are hyped and want to take time off for a new season won’t do so as the timeframe is too little to prepare.

That’s the issue with changing dates, and every game in the genre has struggled with it. But it’s already a error.

It’s not.

Season is still in the same date as announced before.

Yea, the season is still 1. October. On the 14. September there is some release countdown and calender (whatever that means) for the last two weeks until 1. October… It is really weirdly formulated, I can see how this can lead to this confusion.

what do YOU think a new Community Manager should know when they begin?

Forgot to answer this :stuck_out_tongue:

A community manager should know the game itself at a high level. He/she should know the demographic of who plays it, what sites cover it, where it’s been, when it’s coming out and why it should be performing better on a community scale.

Have a plan. Have goals. Have contacts.

Thank you! Excited to be here and help the team out!

Regarding communication mentioned by @Entrr_Username , the goal is yes, to improve communication but in a specific measurable way. What exactly that means I hope to work with the community to define: what do you want to see more of, how can we best spend our time with you, and how will you feel heard and listened to?

We’re already discussing ways we can improve with the added resources and more direct ownership of our community program. Obvious feedback we’ve seen has been around the pace of content (and the information behind it), but what other areas could we work on that I can directly tackle and start seeing immediate results?

Ahhh, yeah, my bad.
My reading today is not optimal it seems.
