Hello Travelers,
Welcome to the Eterra Monthly: April Edition! The month of April was a giant leap forward for Last Epoch. After a 9-month wait, Travelers all over the world were finally able to launch the 1.2 Season 2: Tombs of the Erased Patch! With new friends, challenges, skills, Factions, gear, Echoes, and so much more, April gave us a lot to talk about. So let’s dive in and see how things are going in the world of Eterra.
Patch Review
Patch 1.2 Tombs of the Erased was the launch patch for Last Epoch Season 2. Travelers flocked to the servers in an enormous show of support. While there is simply too much to talk about in this one blog, we will go over some of the big things Season 2 brought us. For all of the other juicy details, check out the Massive 100+ page Patch Notes, or the Hype Week Blog Posts 1, 2, 3, & 4.
The Woven
“Rejoice, Traveler! We’ve prepared a Silken Tomb for you. Woven with golden strands that even you cannot break.” Masque delivered this line to us more than a month ago with the reveal of the Season 2 Trailer. It’s enough to make your skin crawl, and boy, did the Weaver deliver! The Woven Faction is the newest Endgame Faction for Travelers to join after completing their first Tomb or Cemetery in the Monolith of Fate. After this, Travelers will be taken to a new Monolith Island called The Haven of Silk. On this island, Travelers will be free to speak with Masque and spend Memory Amber so they can progress through the Faction ranks.
As Travelers earn ranks and complete challenges, they will earn Weaver Tree Points that can be spent in the Weaver Faction tree, allowing them to manipulate their Echo map. Travelers can also visit the Woven Altar inside the Cemeteries to slot Woven Echoes into their Echo map for new and exciting challenges.
Heartseeker
Have you ever wanted to destroy hordes of enemies with a single arrow? Have you ever wanted to compete with Legolas and save your arrows at the same time? Have you ever wanted to do both of those things and whistle a discordant tune while doing it? Well, now you can. Heartseeker is the newest Skill in the Marksman skill arsenal and is unlocked at 30 passive points in the Marksman Passives tree.
Launching a ranged projectile with the ability to recurve to the same target repeatedly, Heartseeker is highly capable in both Hit and DoT style builds to bring high-health targets to their knees. With Heartseeker, you will find a new mechanic in Last Epoch: Recurve Chance.
Sentinel Rework
While Volatile Reversal may have the spotlight for the Sentinel Rework, there’s a whole lot of other changes for the class with this update in both Skills and Passives. Since this is a significant overhaul of the class and its subsequent masteries, we encourage you to check out all of the details in the Patch Notes and Hype Week Blog Post #2 linked above.

Eyes on Eterra
One of the hottest topics in Season 2 is the long-awaited Mastery Respec. Travelers have been asking for this option for some time, and EHG delivered! But we’ve seen some questions about how and where to make it work.
Once you’ve unlocked the End of Time during the main campaign, Travelers will get to choose one of the 15 masteries made available between the 5 base classes. This choice was once the ONLY decision in Last Epoch that couldn’t be undone. Well, not anymore. Turns out EHG put the Epoch to good use and added a new Respecialization option to Chronomancer Lerinne.
It’s important to know two things before you decide to hop over and change your career path.
- This respc can only be done at the End of Time. Visiting a Chronomancer at any other point in the game will not allow you to change your mastery. Lerinne is the only one who knows how to do it.
- It’s going to cost you some coin to convince her. The cost to respec your mastery scales from 100g at level 1, up to 1,000,000g at level 100, and is combined with the price for respeccing all allocated passive points. Respeccing your mastery will also reset all of your passive points. So, make sure you really want to change before paying up.

Build Spotlight
This month’s Build Spotlight is going to send a chill through your spine… well, at least your enemies. TriKster’s Icicle Heartseeker Marksman utilizes raw Dexterity and Cold Damage to boost multiple projectiles from the Heartseeker skill with the cold conversion node Controlled Icicle. This build does utilise some specific Uniques, so put on your farming hat. You’re going to need Peak of the Mountain to greatly improve your Critical Strike Chance. A Reign of Winter bow, preferably with a crafted exalted, Crit Chance, and Bow Attack Speed affix. Toss in Mourningfrost boots, which will heavily boost our cold damage for all projectiles. Ucenui’s Sphere will be your best option for a relic to rake in even more cold damage.
Like all great builds, there are some Pros and Cons, but for that, we encourage you to check out the Build Guide. Now get out there and win the world’s most dangerous snowball fight!
Meet the Team
This month was a wild one filled with twists, turns, and enough chaos to outshine a Chaos Bolt Barrage. But through it all, we got to talk to our very own Influencer Manager, Foton!
-
Tell us a little about your job and what it includes.
-
I wear a couple of hats that are pretty closely intertwined. My primary hat is Influencer Manager - where I work with content creators of all sizes, making sure they have the information, assets, and overall support that they need. Our content creator program exceeds 1200 creators now, so it’s quite a bit of work making sure they’ve all got what they need. It’s not unlikely you’ll see me in your favorite Last Epoch streamers’ chat from time to time. I also do things like organize interviews, plan Twitch Drop campaigns, and more. If you’re watching sponsored Last Epoch Content, you can safely bet I was involved in making that content happen.
My secondary hat is Social Media Manager. The posts you see are usually written by me. A lot of the marketing and communication there is a team effort, and I work closely with Community Managers on a lot of that. And when I can get away with it, I meme.
-
-
What inspired you to get into Video Game Marketing, and how did you end up at this studio?
- I’ve wanted to work in video games since childhood. I always envisioned myself as a designer or director, or engineer. In a million years, I would never have expected myself to land in marketing. Much less influencer management. This may be my first job in the industry, but the industry has had its claws in me for a long time.
-
How does working at an indie studio differ from working at a larger studio?
- I have no idea. I get the vibe that EHG is sort of a special place within the industry, and very much not the norm.
-
How do you balance working from home with your home life?
- It’s pretty challenging sometimes. I genuinely love what I do, and I have a harder time breaking away from work than I do fighting distractions. The trick is to log out of Steam.
-
How do you balance creativity with practical constraints like time, budget, or technical limitations?
- That’s probably the hardest part of the work. Marketing, whether it be influencer or social media focused, is all creative work. And you will reach practical constraints, often. It’s important not to let them slow you down or defeat you. Hitting a wall isn’t failure. Failure isn’t necessarily bad. These things teach us and allow us to grow. And in the marketing department, it’s extremely important to throw your ideas out there earnestly. Even if they seem like bad ones. It’s a very collaborative process, and there’s a good chance someone is facing similar constraints.
-
What’s the most impactful lesson you’ve learned while working in an indie studio?
- So, this is a great question that I touched on in the last answer. Collaboration is key. Everyone here is here because they have a passion for the work. Everyone brings their own experiences, perspectives, and thought processes to the table. All equally valid and important. Remembering that you are all working towards the same goal is important. Your ideas, no matter how good they are, aren’t going to come out of that the same as they went in. And that’s a good thing.
-
How do you stay motivated and creative, especially during long or difficult projects?
- I make memes to blow off steam. Some of those make it onto Reddit or our socials. It reframes my way of thinking and reminds me of why I do what I do.
-
What kind of feedback from players do you find most helpful or motivating?
- I always feel a little warm and fuzzy when one of the aforementioned memes goes over well. I put a lot of myself into those.
-
Is there anything you’ve worked on that you are particularly proud of? Anything that stands out as an achievement?
- Tour of the Erased. One day, I might tell the story of how this came to be. I learned a lot from it. There were a lot of moving parts, and there were a lot of ways it could have gone wrong. But ultimately, through collaboration with the creators, the team that appeared on the podcast, the marketing team, and the community team, it turned out great. And achieved a lot of the goals we set for it at the onset. Even with last-minute changes to the schedule, we had solid engagement and positive sentiment. I’m already planning the next one.
-
What advice would you give someone who wants to get into this industry?
- Don’t give up. There are a lot of ways you can contribute to the creation of a game. Games need Coders, Technical Artists, Traditional Artists, A myriad of Writers, Marketers, Graphic Designers, Game Designers, Operations Specialists, Community Managers, Audio Designers, Composers, Testers, and so much more. (I’m sorry to any team members that I accidentally left out.) Find a specialty, find something you truly love to do, and pursue it wholeheartedly. Be open to opportunities that might be exactly what it is you want to do.
-
Is there anything else you’d like to tell our readers?
- In the words of Abraham Lincoln - “Be Excellent to Each Other.” I’ll see you all in Eterra!
Discord Fun
The Last Epoch Official Discord is still growing! With new fans and Travelers joining every day, there’s always something to talk about. In case you’re new to the server or just haven’t heard, the Community Management Team has put together a weekly CM Cozy Stream as an excuse to spend even more time with you. Every Wednesday at 10:30 AM CST, a special voice channel will unlock where you can come hang out with the CMs and chat while they create general mayhem in-game. The Streams are hosted by a rotating roster between Kain, Wick, and Averielle. So, kick up your Veteran Boots with a cup of coffee (or a nightcap) and check out some of the fun things already available in Last Epoch.
Fanart Carcinization
Redditor WilliamGoatCreates took the concept of fan art above and beyond! Everyone loves the Carcinization of Momentum, A.K.A The Crab Ring, but William seems to feel that simply finding one isn’t enough and decided to make one! The details on this real-life Crab Ring are gorgeous and had to be shared. Please check out their post on the Last Epoch Reddit where you can see the ring up close. Then hop over to YouTube to see How it was Made!
Well done!
April 1st
While it wasn’t made exclusively for Discord, we would be doing a disservice by not bringing up the warm, fuzzy feeling we all had on April 1st this year. A few devious minds in the studio got together to create a brand new game pitch for you all to kick your feet over. Love Epoch - The Last Epoch Dating Sim came in with a mock-Steam page, gameplay screenshots, Baldur’s Gate references, DLC, and an undercover reveal of two of our favorite cosmetics that were, in fact, very real. The team had a roaring good time putting this together for you all, and we hope you got a kick out of it too. If you want to read the official post, hop on over to This Link Right Here and enjoy.
What’s Next?
So, after all of the webs have settled, you may be asking, “What’s Next for Last Epoch?” Or you’re overwhelmed by the sheer volume of new things to do in the world of Eterra and have just been skimming this post. I wouldn’t blame you if you did.
As you can imagine, the team is constantly working to bring you the very best. As such, you can expect new Patches and Hotfixes to roll out as quickly as possible to address the needs and wants of every one of you. As you may have already seen, the Studio has implemented an In-Game Banner system to make players aware of any upcoming updates. So keep your eye above your chat window so you can stay ahead.
This has been Eterra Monthly; a report on the happenings and changes in the world of Last Epoch. We hope you have enjoyed this month’s report and will see you all again soon.
