Enemy UI Improvements

Hello all 0/,

Just started a mage build today yesterday and so far it’s been a blast except for one nagging issue that I already had that has gotten even more noticeable while playing my mage. Debuffs on enemies. Unless I am just standing around doing nothing but staring at the target dummy there is absolutely no way to tell what debuffs I am proccing on enemies when I hit them and in the middle of a battle forget about it.

I get there are little visual cues but let’s all just be honest right now and just admit that they are next to useless outside of testing on a dummy. First, there is no way you are gonna have the time to check to see what is showing up while in the middle of an arena fight. Second, even if you were some gaming god that could tell in a millisecond exactly what debuffs you have going while your whole screen is filled with explosions and you are dodging one-shots, there still isn’t anyways to tell how MANY stacks you have up. There needs to be an icon below or around the enemy hp bar somewhere with this kind of info.

Overall I think LE is an amazing game especially with all the improvements the dev team has already done this year alone. But its little QoL things like this and just the UI and tooltips in general that to me are a pretty big part of the game and one that is kinda lacking at the moment. To me, those systems are core to an ARPG. Just look at Wolcen and what a dumpster fire that was as a perfect example. It does not matter how pretty a game is or what features it has if core, simple parts of the game like the UI or tooltips are broken or missing.

Developers of LE stated that buffs and debuffs are still in development. This is not the finish product by any means. I know a couple days ago Mike in discord talked about how they are still having meeting discussing how and what they want to be on visual display. And how not crowding the screen with pointless debuffs/buffs is important to them.

If there is UI suggestion like ways for them to display information in a new refreshing way I would suggest some. I think that kind of stuff is would be great feedback at the stage of development. Like what UIs you like in other games and why. Maybe they will customize around those ideas of what players find more appealing.

Shouldn’t really need to be anything fancy or complicated I would think lol. We just need ways to tell what is on the enemy and how many stacks. It’s just really difficult to try to work on and test builds when you aren’t really sure if something is procing or not lol. Green teardrop for poison, red for bleed, and a fire symbols for ignite etc. If something can stack then numbers of stacks. If we could get something simple like that it would be a godsend at this point.
