First, if you already have a character, you select it and the game reports that the servers are disabled, then you can exit the game.
The second is that you create a new character and automatically try to boot into the game, after which the game reports that the servers are disabled and you have NO way to exit the game.
This error is not critical and carries only reputational consequences. It will occur only when the servers are turned off, but the servers will be turned off for one reason or another, someone may fall into this trap.
