It seems there is still an XP disparity towards the end game.
I can crush the content below lvl 100 at lvl 83 but overkill damage consistently kills me doing the lvl 100 content. My issue here is that grinding the XP to level up now requires me to do the the sub level 100 content to be able to survive and the XP rate from that content seems quite slow.
I have to do level 90 monoliths for almost an hour to gain a single level. So since I am level 83 that means I need to grind for 17 hours to hit 100 or until gear randomly drops that can improve my current gear so I can move on with the harbinger quest part 2…
The overkill damage displayed on the death screen is simply the amount of extra damage you received past 0hp. If you’re at 1hp and get hit by 2 damage, you’ll die and it will show overkill 1.
So anything that kills you has overkill, even if it has overkill 0.
That is a problem with your build. Every single build in the game can do at least empowered 100c. Even at level 80. You won’t gain much of a power boost from 80 to 90 anyway. So if you’re having a hard time surviving in 100c monos, you should consider reassessing your build.
You can post your build in the corresponding class category in the forum and players will help you improve it.
your logic is reasonable but it doesn’t account for being level 83 and higher level gear dropping that could fix your build but you can’t wear it because your level 83 and the requirement is level 86 or level 96, etc.
So basically I am grinding for very specific gear upgrades which may randomly drop or not at some point. This is how you progress to the Harbinger part 2?
If you’re struggling to do 100c at level 83, then either your gear needs improvements (that doesn’t require a higher level to equip) or your build is lacking defensive layers. You shouldn’t be struggling so much to survive 100c, even with mediocre gear.
As I said, you should post your build in the corresponding class category for your character and let people give you some advice on how to improve your survivability. It’s quite possible that just a few different passive points/skill nodes might make all the difference.
