Empowered Monolith's 1 Shot constantly (Damage is cracked)

On pure numbers yes, its like going from T1 > T13 maps instantly but LE is also similar to PoE…if you have game knowledge you can push further without dying, ie defensive mechanics and knowing enemies and what they do, also you dont need to clear the whole map in LE. Just big packs and move on, if there is a giga tanky rare and you are undergeared…just skip them

Difference between LE and PoE is farming non-empowered is a giant waste of time due to blessings, you may as well just go right to empowered and struggle. Some classes are just way better at starting with no gear. Warlock for example is a safe league starter due to Chthonic Rift doing so much work

I’ll have to partially agree on this.

True, if you know the game and which enemy do what you are probably better at dodging. But you also probably do harder content earlier as well. I did the campaign in full since it was the first time (in full means doing all quests and side quests in all 9 chapters) and even by doing that, it was not enough.

I am in empowered monoliths on level 88 and I struggle. My minions are able to clear content without dying but if I get caught in a corner or on a piece of environment where I can’t walk over, even with 5200 ward, I die in a few seconds. Moving around the packs is suicide if I do not stop to thin the herd before I target the map objective.

Warlock is not a easy starter for empowered. Warlock nome gear cant solo shade of oroboros 100 as his mechanic from blood wraith will instant kill.

I farmed 45 hours for gear, and while i could no question clear empowered 250 bosses, the corruption 175 blood wraith instant kills me- unless i on predict place a rift on it, and drop profane veil on it to kill it frame 0, as frame 1 i will be dead. All hits from orobos is a 1 shot kill.

Many casters can not tank any hits with auto lock on mechanics. I beaten every boss so far in monolith purely on mechanics, never being hit once as even a single hit, would be instant death

At 100%, it doesn’t matter. Everything below 100%, I would prefer crit damage reduction, usually. Because a 95% crit avoidance means you’ll die in 5% of the cases, while a 95% reduction in damage hits only slightly harder than a normal hit.

No. Acolytes are overtuned and need several mechanics readjusted and nerfed.

It’s disgusting to see people continually conflate mages into this nonsense. Warlocks are attaining 4 digit arena progression, there isn’t a single mage in the top 50 leaderboard. The #1 mage is 50 waves behind the #50 placed person. Also there’s 9 rogues in the top 50, if Ward was overtuned, what’s making rogues outperform non-acolyte classes by this much?

I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying. In either case, at 100% you’re only taking normal damage, but you get an armor bonus from the reduced crit damage affix. That’s why I say it’s “essentially the same advantage”. It’s the same result arrived at in a different way, except reduced crit damage also gives bonus armor. That said, 5% crit damage is still a lot of incoming damage in EMs.

95% crit avoidance: 19 hits at 100% damage, 1 hit at 300% damage ← you get one-shotted
95% crit damage reduction: 20 hits at 110% damage ← you can recover the extra damage

That’s why I prefer to build towards crit damage reduction, but the additional armour is a good reason I never considered before.

I didn’t intend to correct anything you said, just add another nuance.

Yeah, I started building for crit damage reduction as soon as possible. While you’re leveling though, you just kinda take what you can get. However, as a Mage it was impossible to not bias toward CSA early on because we get it so frequently on our class armor (Mystic Plate).

I truly feel I will just go back to regular monoliths. They might offer less rewards but empowered monoliths takes too long to clear for the value they bring. Also, prophecies allow for quicker farming of gear.

Once I have more resistances blessings, which will reduce my dependance of having them on my gear, then I’ll go back up to empowered. It is just not that fun to take 15 minutes in one map because it takes forever for my minions to kill things.

Yeah, I started trying to figure out the best method for doing this and the best I found was to sacrifice the all resist blessing and get the implicit from the helmet to hit 100%. That way I don’t have to sacrifice any affix slots or burn the chestpiece slot to get it.
