I have no hp on 2000 right now but i equiped same stats ring with minion dmg instead of health but i play with that +health

Shroud of Obscurity is a good enough piece! You can also farm exiled mages to see if you can get gloves that have the conversion affix.

LP2 is nice, even better if you can get two health affixes onto it!

EDIT:
I just noticed you were stacking life-regen. Stack more health instead since life-regen will cut into your ward generation.

That conversion affix works only when you have hp missing hence low-life build!

Yes, I saw that about life regen. The plan was to quickly be back to full health as a way to save on potions during boss fights. Useless if you die to a one hit…

Also, just got a prophecy that dropped 6 unique body armours and I got a 2nd Shroud of Obscurity with LP2
And an Aaron’s Will with LP1 in the same group of 6 item. Actually, all of them had at least LP1 so it is crazy but not all were good for minions.

Aaron’s Will is very fun to play with! I remember I was running that piece and just having permanent minions with Golems, Mages, and Wraiths.

So, to turn my gear into something usable (as switching my body armour and boots would cascade break all of my resistances that even if I was to switch everything right now, I would end up with a hole as far as physical resistance goes.

But, I also have an exalted body armour in my stash with the following crafted on it:

  • T5 intelligence
  • T5 minion health
  • T6 ward per second
  • T5 physical resistance

Clearly, even if the intelligence and the minion health would not be a good combo, all 4 of them could work once merged with my unique. And worst case, if the merge fail, I also got a second unique to try again once I’ve got a new exalted piece to use.

Would you go with that kind of item? Could take quite a while to get an exalted body armour with both health and something else useful after all.

Remember you can farm for blessings to open up space for gear and top off with whatever deficit is left with idols. In passives you can spec into Rites of Undeath which gets you halfway there for elemental resists.

You can work in critical avoidance as well this way opening more affixes you can dedicted to health/hybrid health.

Aren’t those blessings all coming from empowered monoliths? At least for the good ones? I haven’t seen them really in regular monoliths yet. Got an All resistances once for 10% I think but nothing else on that matter.

For idols, it is true that I can cover some angles there but with my current gear swaping, it is nearly 60% of physical resistances I lack unless that affix is merged into my body armor when I create the legendary.

Guess the only way to find out what kind of swap I need is to get that armor done first and then see where it leads.

I think the only cracked thing in empowered monoliths are the sabertooth variants and the big spiky wolf which I also forgot the name of, maybe the raptors too. And all these closes the gap to even ranged classes too fast.

OH and for some reason the golden scorpions from shrine are also cracked. It killed my Warlock with 3k HP + 2K ward (no I’m not abusing the 300k Profane Veil ward trick) in few ticks of poison. lol. These Enemies might be a little bit over-giga-tuned.

Edit: This is 362 Corruption. And I often find myself kiting these enemies.

My beastmaster is running early EM with just blessings and some passives. You roll the same blessings in normal or empowered so if you hit a resistance blessing after beating a normal boss (say Rahyeh) you can still get void resistance up to 40% and check that off the defensive requirements with a single piece of gear.

Survival of the Might is a blessing from Reign of Dragon boss and you can receive up to 45% crit avoidance in the normal version as another good one. Once you get to the EM version you can get the higher tier one covering up to 75% crit avoidance and build around it.

But some of them needs a minimum of corruption to be available, right? I mean, the pop up at the end of a monolith says the 4th one require 50 corruption and the 5th one require more (250 if I recall correctly).

You are saying that all of the regular one can still drop a lower version of the resistances blessing as well?

So I got truly unlucky there. My Shroud of Obscurity took the T5 intelligence and the T5 minion health. No ward per second and physical resistance. It is the worst scenario that could happen.

Good thing I had a spare unique but I will need a new exalted :frowning:

EDIT
After doing the swap, removing all of my regen passives and playing a bit with idols, my resistances are capped again (some are overcapped by a fair margin). But my minion lost nearly 300% damage overall so clearly I’ll have to farm in regular monoliths for a while so I can adjust the gear even more. And hopefully get some mages to farm that belt conversion affix.

I went from a total of 2100 life + ward to nearly 2700 total right now with sub optimal gear. Looks promising even in that state.

Empowered Monolith starts with 100 corruption as a baseline.

ah, gotcha. I’ve only done like 2 quick empowered on my necro in beta … never even noticed it was 100 corruption, just that it was definitely harder than normal

I’m getting close to starting empowered on my mage now but am hitting some roadblocks in the 90 regular monoliths. Need to work on my build and gear.

You can still get all the same blessings in normal mono bosses the only difference is that they are lower rolls.

For example:
Spirit of Command / Grand Spirit of Command

As you see, both versions of the blessing exist in the normal and empowered version of Spirits of Fire. The only difference between the two is the range it rolls with. The normal’s version’s max roll is 60% while the empowered is 100% increase.

The blessings you get are random and determined by RNG so if you’re not seeing a blessing you need in the normal version it just means you gotta farm that boss some more.

Getting Intelligence/and Minion Health is not bad at all as both are important stats you need!

Good to know. I got earlier today the Physical Resistance one (32%) and it helps a lot. I am slowly coming back to empowered monoliths with my gear as I farm what I lack. The fact that I am slower due to the chill of the boots almost made me die in that boss fight when he starts to move that snow storm around.

One thing I see in your build as well is that you use a one handed weapon and a catalyst for more ward. This is recommended I suppose in a low life build?

Yes, and yes for working towards a low-life build. You want to farm for an Opulent Focus because it has ward retention/intelligence/and ward per second as implicit. Anything that adds intelligence is a good in between (still havent found a good opulent focus myself.)

For the weapon you can go for a skeletal mace or if you are doing melee then a dragonbone axe for your 1H. I am using a Soul Harverster because I am building off of necrotic damage.

Every point of intelligence you get is 4% more minion damage/health and ward retention so you want to aim for as much intelligence as you can get you. Passives that grant +INT: Apocryphia , Heresy, Crippling Insight.

So aim for 2k HP / 70 INT/ 400% Ward Retention / and 700+ minion health. I wouldn’t worry about damage as the sources are plentiful. If you get close to these then you’ll be able to breeze through corruption.

When you say 2k HP, I assume it is the max health you got so your ward is maximized over the reduction from your two uniques?

I have around 1400 right now, which gives me 2700 ward. Got 47 INT. Not sure for ward retention as I am not in front of the game. I know I have more minion health than this though (around 1000 I would say). The T7 minion life I got on my amulet is raising that number a lot

Yeah start building ward retention and you’ll see that number go up. You want as much HP and Retention as possible. Also, build some ways to generate ward with your skills/passives as well.

Here’s an updated version of my gear hitting those things I was mentioning:
Level 100 Wraithlord Necro

My goal is to do the 100 version of each monolith and hopefully get a 30-40% resistances blessing for as many as I can as a way to reduce the pressure on my gear and then on idols. That will then gives me options for more health and wards overall.

Just got a second Ambitions of an erased acolyte with 13WW. Hopefully this one will give me something better than the previous one I had.

Yessss!

You’ll be breezing through 100 corruption in no time!

Ward per Second is nice but not as important as retention. Since shroud/last steps will cover that along with other passives or skills.
