Elixir of Construction under Ballista Spec not working?

I don’t know if anyone else has been experiencing it, but when I run any content and try to proc Elixir of Construction by using a Potion and summoning a Ballista there is no indicator saying I have the damage buff I have tried respeccing it with multiple different points with the same issue.

You don’t get the buff, the Ballista does. I’ve never tried that node but I’d have hoped there would be some form of graphical effect added to the ballista.

You are supposed to get a “used potion recently” indicator that states buffs from recently using a potion are active. I’ve seen videos of people using a potion and getting that indicator but for me its just not there. I probably should go damage test to see but I don’t think I need to

No, you’re not.
That node specifically states “Ballista deals more damage”. It doesn’t affect your character at all, so you shouldn’t get the “used potion recently” indicator, as this only shows if something is directly affecting your character… No buffs on minions show on your buffs bar, as this would lead to greater confusion

But I do agree, there should be some kind of indicator…
On my character, in addition to the “used potion” icon showing, I notice the character itself gets a red glowing “aura” around him whenever it’s being affected by something after using a potion, so maybe they could add this to the ballista as well.

But yeah, this is exactly what you need to do…

If you discover it is not working, then you should open a Bug Report on this, otherwise, you’ll be potentially helping the next person that stumbles upon it, while reinforcing the needs for Devs to implement this indicator for minions too.

Since I skipped work this morning, and had nothing better to do, I went for testing this.

So, yes, the Elixir of Construction works 100% as intended. My ballista was averaging 200 damage each hit, went up to average 400 if summoned after drinking a potion, but there’s really no indicator of that whatsoever.

And since I was already at the job, I also tested couple other nodes that should also add some indicator to the Ballista to see how they interact.

The Siege Commander node gives the Ballista frenzy as long as you’re standing next to it. It correctly shows the frenzy glow indicator below the Ballista.

On the other hand, the Tainted Ammunition node gives the Ballista poison chance and poison damage if you hit it with an Acid Flask. The effect works as intended, increasing both poison chance and damage on the Ballista, but there’s also no indicator of that.
