Elemental Leech and mana spend gained as Ward Question/Bug

Few questions I have. If I have lets say Tome of Elements that grant elemental leech does that work with the skill like disintegrate? I understand that when leech is paired with (on hit) then disintegrate would not work as it is a DOT.

Second I noticed that skills that proc off of other skills or abilities do not work with mana spend gained as ward. Is that intended or bug? Example, Triboelectra casting static orb does not gain ward, nor does disintegrate procing orb/lightning blast.

Tome of Elements says “2% of Elemental Damage Leeched as Health” so it works any time you deal Elemental damage, including with Disintegrate.

edit: I searched for a different query and found a direct answer to the second question on official discord.

According to Mike’s reply to a question from their Discord moderator, “mana spent gained as ward” should NOT work with triggered spells, only with direct skill uses.
