Feedback – Corruption / Scaling
Facts: Corruption is soft-capped at 1k, most “efficient/accessible” increased experience stops around 550%, and the new endgame currency doesn’t scale with it—or at all.
Why am I playing your game? I honestly can’t answer that anymore. Progression is fun for maybe a week, then I hit the soft cap and I’m done. I might as well go back to Overwatch for (hopefully just) another 3-month break.
Please—I’m genuinely asking—open a conversation with us, the players. Help us understand why this system was implemented. How is capping an ARPG healthy for its long-term design? What was the thought process?
There are so many obvious problems:
1. No 1:1 exp-to-difficulty ratio feels unfair.
2. Soft capping promotes zoom meta—rushing low corruption maps is optimal.
3. You originally said you wanted meaningful combat, not a PoE-style zoomfest. Now we’re right there.
4. As a player, I don’t feel rewarded for investing time. I could play 16 hours a day and still feel like a casual in terms of item or favor gain.
5. I understand the goal of making the game accessible to newcomers, and I support that—but it feels like I’m being punished for having higher ambitions than playing at sub-1k corruption.
Would it really hurt the game to just adjust the soft cap and tweak diminishing returns to better reward investment?
