Echo Knight perk

I just studied the Echo Knight skill for Warpath, and it procs not as often as it should it seems. Inscription says it has doubled of basic Echo chance (it’s 10%), so it equals 20%, but i bet it does not proc as it says. Maybe i’m doing smth wrong, whay ya’ll can say about that?

Have you been spinning for at least 2s and moved at least 4m in the past 2 seconds?

Of course, i mean it procs sometimes, but the frequency of that “sometimes” seems so low

So my basic math tells me that you should see at least one echo in the first 7 seconds. 2 seconds to start then 20% chance per second gives an average of 1 echo every 5 seconds.

Of course that’s also the Gamblers Fallacy, it’s a 20% chance per second so every second has a 1/5 chance to create an echo, if you go 4 seconds with no echo it’s not a 100% chance the 5th second will echo, it’s still a 20% chance it will echo.

But again, averages. Move back and forth in an area while channeling Warpath and keep a timer going, you should see 2 echos in 10s, 3 in 15, 4 in 20, so on and so forth. The longer you test the more accurate your results will be.

Edit: I should also say, that my previous question stems from when I worked IT for a military installation and had people call me telling me they didn’t have any camera feeds for their base entrance (very dangerous), only for them to have not even checked if the TV display was on… So I just default to the basic solution.

And yet there’s a ~60% chance that you would have expected to see a proc in 4 seconds.

I thought you were refering to the item for a sec…

Statistics! Yaaaaaay

Edit: it’s just so funny to me that there’s a very real possibility to go 100s of Warpath and never seeing an echo because you rolled the 4/5 chance to not echo every second for that duration. Statistically unlikely? Absolutely. Possible? Absolutely.

Aight, ty, matey, I’ll be trying further. Maybe increasing the Echo chance will help a bit. Anyway, thanks for your attention

Yeah, sorry I wasn’t much more help. I don’t have a void knight I could test it with myself. If you do test it, let me know if your results were as expected. It very well could be bugged. This is one of those awkward “it could be a bug or it could be bad RNG” situations.

I’ll be defo experimenting with that stuff, maybe I’ll record a clip of it and send it here, if it’s allowed

See, that’s where most IT people get it wrong.
The first question shouldn’t be “Have you tried turning it off, then on again?”, but just “Have you tried turning it on?”.
Especially when working with the military.

Definitely, from memore you can get the echo chance up to 40%(?) which is then doubled to 80% for that node so you should then see echoes every few seconds (at max investment in echo chance).

There is a passive at Void Knight’s tree that increases Echoe chance, it scales up to 5 lvls as I remember, and adds 5%(?) of the Echo chance to it’s base, so there will be 70% chance to echo Warpath, if i’m not talking nonsense. Anyway i’m only about to upgrade that passive  Will see how it would work out for me there, ty

The base echo chance is 10% + 10% from 5 points in Echoing Strikes, 10% from 10 points in Time Legion +10% from 1 point in Avatar of Regret for a total max of 40% if you’re willing to invest 16 passive points.

When the tech got out there and told me (I was working remotely stateside and they were overseas. I’d just create tickets for the techs to go repair things like hydraulic barriers operating slowly or cameras losing IR, etc) I promised him that I’d be more thorough in my questioning from that point forward. The next time I got a call/email like that, I’d always ask if they checked if the display TV was on, and if it wasn’t turning on, was it plugged in. Saved the techs a lot of trouble
