Dungeon Ability does not work with Controller. There is no button mapped for it.
I raised this issue 8 months ago when the first dungeon came out, a dev answered me that it was fixed in a patch and it was added in patch notes, but it is not fixed, 8 months later.

It says its mapped to left d-pad. That is the button to show/hide items on ground.

Are you sure about this?

They changed the button for items on the ground too… There was a recommendation to reset to defaults first and then to reapply any personalisted mapping again after the patch in question… without doing this, the old defaults remained on any existing installations.

I dont use a controller but as I understand it, the problem was resolved by doing this.

note: be sure not to use the keyboard / mouse when changing controller bindings - this causes secondary problems with the bindings getting confused between the different input sources.

Well Iv reset the keybinds to default in-game. I dont know what else to do. Its the same old keybinds for me.

Hmm… Two suggestions…

If you have discord, perhaps you can ask in the community or general channel to see how the other controller players are getting around this issue - I know there are plenty people using the controller option so logically to me they must have found a solution to this issue else there would be a lot more people mentioning this problem (or no one is doing Temporal Sanctum dungeon?)…

If you recall the dev that responded, you could probably ask how the solution is meant to work in the dev channel - note, its not for bugs/support, you can just ask something like what is the “D” equivalent for changing eras in the Temporal Sanctum dungeon when using a controller…

else, maybe someone here on the forum will see this and suggest something - its a little quiet here tho, so discord will likely be the better option.

I never used a controller and just plugged one in to test and it didn’t work (the dungeon ability didn’t show any associated keybinding besides it).

It worked for me after “restore defaults” via the change input keys menu.

Now the dungeon ability is showing the “left arrow” symbol (which it doesn’t before resetting the keybindings manually)

If that doesn’t work for you @Buurz you might need to ask the devs, if there is a way to manually reset the keybindings.
I don’t know where the settings for those are saved unfortunately.

Hmm, something seems wrong with your keybindings. Left D-pad used to show/hide items on the ground. That functionality was changed to long press on Right D-pad. Default controller keybinds for the D-pad are as follows:

  • Left D-pad - use Dungeon Ability
  • Right D-pad - open town portal on press and show/hide items on long press
  • Up/Down D-pad - zoom in/out on character OR cycle through items on the ground

I’m using an Xbox Series controller (which Steam recognizes as a Xbox One controller) and verified that these are working as intended. I’d suggest trying a few things:

  1. Make sure you are running the latest version of the game, 0.8.5f
  2. Verify game files
  3. Check that the controller settings for Last Epoch are correct. Right-click Last Epoch in your Steam library and select Properties to get to this screen. Select Controller General Settings on this screen to view the settings (as seen in second image).

  1. Reset keybindings to their default settings while in-game. I’d also recommend performing this action while using the controller. You can navigate to the settings menu using kb/m but you’ll need to use the controller to select the Change Input Keys option and then select Restore Defaults. You can do so using the Right-thumbstick to move the cursor and the A button to select.

Hopefully this resolves your issue. If not, submit a bug report – though this thread kind of seems like one already.
