How does dual wielding work with the base attack speed of weapons? If I have a weapon that has a high attack speed in my main hand and a slow attack speed in my off hand does the speed alternate between each attack?
Weapons are stat sticks. there is no local stats, and there is no âalternatingâ or âwhen you hit with this weaponâ ala poe.
For DWing specifically you average the speed of the two weapons. So if you have 1.2 in main hand and 1.02 in off hand. you get 2.22/2 = 1.11 attack speed. And thats not 1.11 attacks per second, thats essentially 11% more attack speed globally. Each skill has its own base time mechanics.
The baseline speeds on weapons are essentially more multipliers like I said, or less if its below 1. so 0.89 of a bardiche two handed axe is 11% less attack speed.
