Dual wield does not seem to dual proc

Testing is difficult, because there are so few in game tools to track these types of effects, but easily observed with skills like Tempest Strike.

Simply put, dual wield just lumps the two weapons together in some sort of bad two hander. The weapons don’t proc effects independently.

Very disappointing.

Weapons are stat sticks, some affixes stack, some unique affixes don’t. Were there any in particular that didn’t that you thought should?

Besides all of the Tempest Strike procs.

Idol based procs also don’t work independently for each hand when dual wielding. I just tested 15% spike totem proc chance while using the unmodified swipe. There is only one hit that combines the two weapons.

Yeah, that’s because DW sums up both weapons. Skills are what do damage and you’re only using a skill once.

Not a bug.

Not sure we agree on the definition of “not a bug”, though.

The character is not dual wielding, even when skills show both weapons landing at the same time.

That’s the thing, in LE, your skills do the damage & you only use a skill once so you only get one lot of procs. If you’re DWing, your skill will have much higher damage than if you’re just using a single one-handed weapon, that’s where the benefit of DWing comes from, it’s not that you get a second use of a skill (once per weapon).

If there’s skills where the animation doesn’t show the character DWing when they have two weapons equipped, that’s a different kettle of fish.
