Drain Life ability does not work with a gamepad

When I use the Drain Life ability with my Lich using a controller (Xbox) it typically never targets the enemies. It instead either targets the ground or disappears from the screen.
It makes the ability useless with a gamepad.

Same problem here. Using xbox controller on PC

Same. It just aims it at a fixed distance and it’s not really useable sadly.

Same here. I’m surprised the Devs haven’t commented on this. It’s been a problem for months. They’ve been very communicative about everything else, hoping they fix this soon.

I was working toward Drain Life for a fun blood build. Full stop. Gotta pick something else. This is impossible with a controller. I expected it to act like Rip Blood but channeled.
