DPS for Corruption Level?

Does anyone have a hard fast rule they use to gauge dps for a level of corruption. Say for instance corruption level 150, how much dps do you think you would need to be able to do that comfortably?

The reason I ask is Im trying to get my torment warlock to 300 but I am stuck at 178. I am getting one shotted by mechanics on bosses. I can eat the boss if I stay alive but that is the problem.

So the question is: When do you go up in corruption? Do you look at your dps (on the character sheet) or what metric do you use?

Thanks ;D!

The tool tip Dps can be a guide but I verify everything on the Boss Target dummy. There I practice my burst, rotation and often respec and test skills to see if it helps my damage.

Seems like really Ward, Armor/reduce crits, Resist would be your answer. You definitely don’t want to be getting 1 shot at 178 corruption maybe a mistake at 700 okay. However if you struggle a lot early your defensive layers are lacking.

It depends on your patience. If you have more patience a 5 min boss clear may be fine (means less odds of dying on a monolith).

For me I hate defensive builds as they make a boss take awhile , before you even consider the ward phases. As such I want to dps the boss down in under 1.2 min (not counting phases and ward). Why I hate Herott.

Furthest I gone legit is 280 on live. After that the latency for me is unplayable. Also I get angry as I run out of patience quick

I go by how the bosses feel. Trash will almost always die very fast no matter what your using unless theres stacking glancing blow, crit avoid, endurance type mods on the map then they feel shitty on any build so if the bosses start taking too long your probably about capped out until you upgrade. To be perfectly honest I literally never use tooltip dps outside of very early lvlng to compare potential upgrades on the fly. Ive seen massive tooltip dps be meh so Ive never heavily relied on it.

You should aim to kill bosses under 2 minutes. If it takes longer, your dps is low.

All Monolith Bosses have mechanics that are easily avoidable. If you want to get hit instead, you need to get more damage mitigation and sustain.

  • Fix your armor. Find item bases with higher armor values. Upgrade your % armor blessing to empowered version.
  • Heart of Uhkeiros will generate more Ward if you raise your HP. Cast Speed helps too.

You can go to 1000+ corruption if you 1 shot everything, or if you stun everything,. However, you will likely still be 1 shot every now and again and have to be more cautious as you go (slower clears).
