For Bleed / Poison / Ignite DoT dmg…where does the actual FLAT dmg numbers come from? All I ever see are Percent Increases…I started a new char and took all gear off and I have 24 bleed / 10 poison / 16 ignite DoT dmg…I know some skills increase these flat numbers…but outside of passive nodes / skills what else if ANYTHING increases the flat number and why do I even HAVE flat DoT dmg at lvl 2 with no gear equipped. This part of the game is very confusing for me.
I know proc chances can be increased above 100% to apply more than 1 stack per tick, and increased dot dmg affixes increases the dot dmg…just curious where this flat dmg is coming from
Each Ailment has it’s own base damage.
And the corresponding damage type also increases it’s Ailment damage(So fire damage does scale the base ignite damage up)
To answer your question of where the base damage comes from, it’s not coming from anywhere, it just is. I don’t think there’s anywhere that adds base damage to the ailments.
Also, is stun considered an ailment? Since it’s chance to proc is completely different from poison / bleed / ignite / chill, etc…is it still considered an ailment or is it in a league of it’s own? Game Guide doesn’t clearly state yes or no.
I think stun is it’s own thing. Future Strikes (a Void Knight passive) is more confusing though as sometimes it behaves like an ailment (can leech, is proced by other hits, isn’t proced by Smite due to a bug, can’t proc ailments) and sometimes it doesn’t (can crit, can proc Smite from the idol, does proc Forge Guard’s Regenerator).
