IIRC in one of the developer interviews it was mentioned that the anti-one-shot mechanic will be removed for some bosses and enemies, especially in the campaign.
Let me start by saying that I love trying a lot of different builds and I don’t mind leveling multiple characters. I also really like the story aspect of my ARPGs and enjoy playing LE’s story without skipping via dungeons or going into the monolith early.
Apart from the fact that I would love to see a continued story with more chapters to play, I really think that the bosses we face during the campaign are easy enough as they are, or maybe even a little too easy. If you play your own build without looking up anything, they stand out as a stronger enemy, but not as a real boss monster. If you follow a build guide, they just disappear if you look at them too long, almost never even get to do anything - and that is with the one-shot protection. I don’t want the game to be hard, and I love that it’s miles away from the slog fest that is PoE2. What I would love is to get to see more of the bosses and discover that they actually have recognisable and dodgeable abilities.
Having said that, I can definitely see an imbalance between bosses and imprisoned mages, for example, especially in the campaign.
Maybe this has more to do with the presentation of the bosses, but I feel that they should be more significant, which in turn would better convey the story, which can already be difficult to follow due to the time travel aspect.
I know that (by popular demand) 1.2 is going to focus on the endgame and crafting, which I’m also really excited about, but I felt like advocating for the campaign to get some love in the future. Maybe even bring back a quest or task to unlock your mastery to better tie it into the story.
