Suddenly I can no longer collect any items, to fix this issue I must use portal to the city but when I go back I lose all the loot.

Same issue with one additional detail
When I entered the map I picked up an item that I wanted to forge. I opened the forge and found I was missing most of my runes - only the Runes of Creation were showing. I was about to go back to town to see if re-loading would fix it when I used the “Transfer Crafting Items” to transfer some shards in the hopes it would “reset” my materials. It seemed to work fine.
Shortly after I picked up a relic and noticed I didn’t have a relic equipped … which was odd because I was sure I had one on. I equipped the new relic and after this I noticed I couldn’t pick up any more items.
When I created a portal and went to town, my original relic was under my cursor as though I was drag/dropping it.
I believe the “Does not fit in inventory” error was because of a client/server desync. My inventory didn’t load correctly, my client didn’t think I had a relic. And when I equipped the new relic, the “old” relic filled the “inventory slot” that represents the item under my cursor … but since my client didn’t know it existed, it showed nothing. And any time I tried to pick up a new item, it saw that this under-cursor-inventory-slot wasn’t empty and threw an error.
This error (though not the root cause desync) can be re-produced by
- initiating an item drag from your inventory to get an item under the cursor.
- Use alt+tab to switch windows and force Last Epoch to lose focus.
- Release left click.
- Use alt+tab to switch back to Last Epoch. The item will be under your cursor with the left-click unpressed.
- Left click an item on the ground to attempt to pick it up. The error “Does not fit in inventory” will appear.
