Does any of the Sentinel Masteries have good clear?

I’m going to start a Paladin and my wife really wants to play a Sentinel too, but I don’t think Pally is going to have much clearspeed. Is there any other Sentinel Mastery that has really good clear? She’s pretty committed to playing tanky melee and I really look forward to pally so other masteries are probably not an option.

Thanks for any insights or suggestions.

i would suggest having a look on maxroll.gg for your builds if you wanna follow one (they have a decent tier list of all their builds on the website)

Every class can have amazing clear speed.

So this really is a game where you can play any class/mastery and be extremely effective? In other words, “play what you want” lol. What a concept. Ok, thanks, folks.

Yes, everything is viable. Play what you think is fun.

I think we settled on Pally and Void Knight. The VK kind of reminds me of the Dark knight archetype I’ve played in other games. Hoping it really is like that. Trouble is, I think now we will probably be competing for the same gear. In light of the general information above, maybe I will consider moving to a different class and starting over. Thanks again.

No problem, but you wont be “competing” for any gear. Gear drops for the individual, but you can also trade gear. So everybody wins. Plus you wont likely be using the same stats.

The Void Knight is very cool, he is a dark knight, a time traveller, and a spellcaster all at once. I prefer to play VK as 100% spellcaster myself, with devouring orb, anomaly, smite, and volatile reversal.

That’s good to hear but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s a bad idea for us both to be playing Sentinels. We are just not doing enough DPS, every fight is a slog. I’m not sure why I expected otherwise, lol, we’re both playing tanks.

Here’s a question I’ll pose in general as a new topic under a list of other noob questions, but since we’re already talking, should we be forging weapons now? We’ve been under the impression that we should save our crafting mats for when we have good gear later and just use what drops until then. Would this have a significant impact on our progression and dps?

Thanks

Early on, a good weapon is very important because the flat damage is your main scaling. Later on you’ll get more sources of flat damage and it won’t be as important.

For now, though, you should look up the vendors or the gambler and try to get a better weapon.

As for crafting, you will soon have lots and lots of shards. So if you can upgrade your gear by crafting, you should do it. Even a few common affixes can greatly improve your experience.
A few damage affixes or health ones will do wonders for your experience.

In short, do it if you can, but don’t be too worried if you’re not using it.
