Do the Devs plan to keep allowing cheaters on their 'leaderboards'?

There are tons of notepad edited players and hackers on this sites own ‘Ladder’ section and it seems to be a pretty bad sign for the multiplayer release. If there’s dog poop all over someones yard, usually their house is dirty, too. I was hoping to grind out a new build and see where I stand on the arena waves. For all I know, 100% of the people in the top 100 edited their notepads.

Now, obviously ARPG’s have the laziest player bases out of any game, and cheating/botting is expected. But you’d think when it’s sitting right on this website, they’d have hired someone to remove cheaters with the millions of dollars in purchases they’ve had.

There apparently was several posts about a streamer (apparently cheaters names are protected so I can’t say it)

All these precautions with trading to stop RMT, yet streamers who might bring the Devs money gets a free pass. I’d say I hope I’m wrong, but currently I’m right. I guess cheating is allowed as long as the devs get their cut.

In the posts I saw about cheating on reddit, the Devs actually scolded the player reporting the cheater, calling it ‘harassment’ to take screenshots of his hacked items. The game should detect if you’ve edited your files and you should be banned permanently if you cheat. Even Warcraft 3, twenty years ago, could detect cheaters. I fail to believe they have no way to enforce this.

No, there’s not much that can be done at the moment given the character save files are on the player’s pc, but with 0.9 and multiplayer the leaderboards will be for mp characters and therefore cheating should be significantly reduced (its going to be server authoritative, so if your pc says that you have a bajillion hp and t1000 affixes on your gear, the server’s going to give you a big nope) and much easier for the devs to detect.

Not necessarily, development is expensive and given the above, I’d rather they have an additional dev (or even an additional support person!) rather than someone dedicated to investigating what someone’s doing in the offline version of the game.

They don’t, there are a few streamers who i can think of and there were sanctions/punishment applied.
