I have leveled a Cinderstrike Marksman and reached level 60 and end-game.
My question is, is it worth to keep going with this character or roll a new one to try something different?
If builds don’t change much (eg obviously power can be greaterz but general gameplay/skills are the same) then I think it’s best to reroll and try something new?
Or can builds still significantly change in terms of gameplay/skills during end-game?
When I discovered the game, I stopped almost all my chars after the campaign or during the first timeline, because I wanted things to change.
That’s why I tested all masteries, and some of them multiple times with different builds.
Yes, most builds stay relatively the same at high level.
But some builds can’t really be leveled for, so you need to respec after a while.
And that sums it up! Stop playing a character, but don’t delete it, you may come back to it!
I started this game only few days ago decided i wanted play caster and lich as main class i found some guide on youtube and so far been having a blast with this build i wanna get 100 lvl with this build right now 84 my damage feels really good i got capped all resistances and crit avoidance and got 1800hp still got few items i could improve in my build
it clears very fast and is insane boss killer its tanky with insane sustain also in the guide he use omni amulet but its not needed i dont have it for example
i’m finding an extremely disturbing trend that builds which will run just fine into 90 mono’s get hammered in empowered monos making them
A unfun
B require way too much farming to make them fun again
I’m still trying to understand exactly why, but it looks like it’s the accumulation of fairly miserable mods that can cause a build to become really squishy, and/or make it such that your damage isn’t high enough.
i really think there is a problem with the difficulty step going from monos to empowered monos.
so in reference to your question, no your build probably won’t change that much even into 90 level monoliths, but if you want to find out if it’s “good enough” you need to push into empowered.
It’s easier to respec your skills in higher level of Monolith of Fate because you get much more experience there. I changed the skills on my Forge Guard multiple times to experiment with the build I’m most comfortable with.
I’d say, keep your character even if you don’t like the build anymore so it’s easier to experiment with different skills.
If you complete all 3 Lvl 90 Normal Timelines (an interact with the altar thingy in the middle of those 3 timelines), you unlock all timelines in empowered (given that you already unlocked paths to them)
I find that a true test of a build is empowered monos - 100 corruption. Nothing higher neccessary… Before this point, its almost as if any mashed together build with generally basic gear can make it through relatively easily provided its not totally broken and badly spec’d or you simply cannot play the skill rotation.
I have tried many many builds that are fun to play/way out left field skill combinations/lets see if you can use this unique type builds, but they usually hit a barrier in Empowered monos that is really hard to overcome. All other content is totally doable before then. I’d say my ratio is about 1 in 6 builds can comfortably get to Empowered with 150+ corruption… at least where its not a sweat/chore to progress.
The difficulty scaling in the game in terms of mobs/bosses is definitely out of wack and while this may not be a major issue in itself, it does create a situation where a char can sail along through content and then hit a brick wall - instead of just a steep staircase - and that doesnt feel good. Getting close to beating a boss vs getting your arse handed to you… Empowered jump from normal Monos could probably use a better curve but thats probably just the starting 100 corruption scale bumping up the mobs health/damage…
