Alright so. This attack has two main flaws that I see with it.
1- It does not proc. arcane current or arcane flames despite it being fire AND lightning
2- The beam can fire UP hills and UP stairs like a champ, but the second an enemy goes DOWN hills or DOWN stairs…the ability has a heart attack and for literally cannot damage them at ALL at the sweet spot angle.
Please let me know what you think and explain anything you can! Obv. still new to the game and would love any feedback.
No. 1 is just due to the ability is being tagged as DoT… so it can’t “hit”, which is required for both Arcane Current and Arcane Flames. (And many other “on hit” effects)
No. 2 is really good feedback. Now the question is, should it be able to shoot upwards and downwards at all? Or should they just remove the ability to do both of that entirely?
Alright well hear me out, would it not make sense to have it count as a hit for the first “Hit” and then change to a DoT? Considering that you can literally tap the skill and it goes to full immediately. Now if it charged up to full, that would be different and I would understand the DoT aspect of it not proc’ing those.
As far as the up and down aspect, I think you should be able to go both ways. Lets be real, are stairs going to stop the movement of your arm/palm irl if you could fire it? Now lets say it acts like a Kamehameha then typically the beam stays static, but I have seen a TON of instances of it curving up and down, or side to side, or even track an enemy.
So it goes to say, should we make the beam charge to full, or have it count as a “Hit” on the first instance of damage then DoT? The latter would greatly buff the attack.
I agree with Nº 2, one of the reasons why i prefer to use lightning blast with insidious conduction node instead of disintegrate is how easy it is to hit with L. blast and how hard it is to do the same with disintegrate, L. blast will hit anything doesn’t matter the relative position or even if the enemy is on screen or behind a wall while disintegrate only hits if there is an unobstructed line of sight.
Exactly. I hate being able to fire uphill and not down. However, I have had many instances of being able to fire straight through objects. Doesn’t always have to be LOS.
I don’t like making every skill being able to hit, it’s just one thing that makes this skill unique (i know there are a handfull of similar skills).
You definitely need to scale it differently. Also despite it isn’t able to hit, it does have one of the strongest shock supports within a skill spec tree (because the ailment nodes within hte tree can apply “each second” without the need to hit)
And if you really want to make disinegrate “hit”, you can spec into the “Backfire” Node, since that thing does hit, when it occurs.
Well yeah I get that, but I think its easier to just make it hit the first time and THEN make it DoT. It wont be able to proc a ton, but it will at least be able to proc ONCE. That is enough to activate a few skills.
But not being able to activate with the ambiguous requirement of it either being fire or lightning for these skills to activate it is highly misleading. I know that it says “hit”, but there are plenty of skills that don’t specify it being a “hit” and still proc the skills.
Besides, the backfire node would be great, if it didn’t take 5 full seconds for it to proc.
I want the thing that I spend 5 full seconds on to already be dead or dying. That would make backfire a purely Boss centered node and would do nothing for any other enemy.
I still think they should specify hit and AoE the same way they specify DoT. Would make it easier to identify what would actually proc. skills and what wouldn’t for new players.
Atleast add a tooltip that states something like this: “This skill does not activate “on hit” skills and effects”
Ah, didn’t see that. Makes it a bit more viable. However I think 2 to 2.5 seconds might be better for clearing and “Bossing”. Just an opinion so don’t take that as something I really need.
It wasn’t the easiest to test with endgame nova build, but as far as i can see arcane current can’t hit the target you are hitting, and having only two targets - one hit by EN the other (in range) was never hit with AC.
If AC can hit same target then i can’t 100% confirm. But on dummy there is always 1 damage number and the lightning link from AC never seems to show.
