So I’m doing Lightless Arbor this morning for a faction lens. I got sideswiped by some fire and died. Clicked the RESPAWN button and…
“Your connection with the game server has been lost”
Ok. Booted out of the game and back to main menu. Of course, when I log in, the dungeon key is gone and I cannot re enter the dungeon. I generally don’t have connection problems, but this is the first dungeon I have tried in LE. Not really a great start. I held onto that key to get some faction, and to play a little on my day off.
…All of sudden, I feel like I am playing an Indie game.
well, youll get these keys rather easily, but yea its annoying. Tho i must say it got better. A few days ago i practically dcd whenever i died which was hella annoying.
I’ve been waiting for the disconnects to stop before even trying a dungeon. In beta I tried a few and always got dc’d right in the middle. But it’s getting better for sure. Now I only dc rarely, so maybe I’ll try a dungeon this weekend and see if I get lucky.
Getting disconnected on death in a dungeon is a bug. You should return to the entrance when you die.
Losing the key is intended, you get one shot at a dungeon. If you die you need to another key to start another run.
I was returned to the End of TIme after logging back in. One shot at a dungeon seems really cheap. Guess I will be passing…
I’ve played 60 character levels and got one dungeon key. Is that normal or is this a farmable item? It doesn’t seem like a frequent drop item so far to me…
Dungeons are end game content and mostly for doing end game things.
As for keys, you eventually will have tabs and tabs of them if you play end game a lot. Because the dungeons mostly offer rewards at the end that require other materials, be it gold or legendary materials etc.
Everything in endgame is one shot. You die, you lose. It’s part of the challenge. You are barely getting into that part of the game, you have a LOT of game left. Keys will drop faster than you use them, trust me. Most people have a key stash tab to toss them into but after a while it’s not even worth picking them up. The dungeons have specific uses, so you aren’t doing them over and over again. The monolith system is what you mostly do in the endgame, that’s connected to the End of Time to the right if you haven’t found it yet.
Temporal Sanctum - Craft Legendaries. Only need to do the tier required by the Unique level Requirement
Soulfire Bastion - Gambling for Gear
Lightless Arbor - Gold Sink
Keys will drop randomly throughout your gameplay, & you will eventually end up with a surplus.
A friend of mine mentioned this as well. He always gets disconnected from dungeons when he died to the dungeon boss.
Fun fact: He restarted the game 23 times before he beat his first T3 dungeon boss .
