According to the tooltip, the wolves storm bolt now scales with the gathering storm tree, but when you actually look at the tree, there are almost no compatible nodes in that tree for the wolves. Most reference storm stacks, or when attacking, mana utilization, physical/cold conversion, etc.
Of all the 26 nodes, the few that ‘work’ seem underwhelming.
-Jolting Strikes: grants shock chance and increases melee damage, which the latter isn’t compatible
-Concentrated Storm: More damage but less Aoe
-Lightning Strikes Twice: Small chance to hit twice (Not even sure if this works with wolves)
-Clouds on the Horizon: Storm bolts hit further away
-Thunderous Strikes: Storm bolts penetrate lightning resist
It really just feels like an afterthought, and the tree feels very non-synergistic with the wolves.
Perhaps it would be worth the consideration to add some more nodes that directly affect storm bolts generically instead of having so much focus on storm stacks
